Solar Integrated wins 13 mln usd contract with Tesco USA for solar roofing
AFX

LONDON (AFX) - Solar Integrated Technologies Inc said that it has won a deal worth 13 mln usd with Tesco USA to provide a 2 MW building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing system for Tesco USA's distribution centre under construction in Riverside, California.

R Randall MacEwen, Solar Integrated's president and chief executive, said: 'We believe this will be the largest roof-mounted solar installation in the world. We are thrilled to partner with Tesco USA on their exciting entry into the US market. Tesco has a strong commitment to being a leader in helping to create a low carbon economy.

'Our BIPV roofing system at this distribution centre will produce over 2.6 mln kilowatt hours per annum, provide a fifth of the depot's power supply, and save 1,200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.'

The firm added that it 'looks forward to working with Tesco on future opportunities'.

Creeping up nicely since the beginning of the year . . . .

SOLA Bid: 480p Offer: 484p Change: 4.5

Darradev - 25 Jan 2007 09:45 - 580 of 3050

More like racing ahead now. Nice start to the day !

HARRYCAT - 25 Jan 2007 09:51 - 581 of 3050

As far as I can see this rise is not based on any RNS or other news, so if it's just momentum driven I can see profit taking happening during the day.
Currently BID 523 - OFFER 528

cynic - 25 Jan 2007 09:59 - 582 of 3050

quite possibly, but may only drop to about 480 where there looks to be vague support ...... as i have said before, you just need to follow gut instinct with this share as no history

HARRYCAT - 25 Jan 2007 10:15 - 583 of 3050

Agree, but although the chart shows lots of peaks & troughs, the trend is still up, which is encouraging. Will be happy to sell at around 530 & get back in at 480.

cynic - 25 Jan 2007 10:19 - 584 of 3050

so difficult to call this one ...... there is a tenable argument that one should hold as long as the uptrend continues .... chart below may help judgement

Morning all! Nice movement, FWIW I think the fact that 500 has again been breached has given the SP a bit of a shove. Will it stay above 500 this time?

Given that the future looks pretty rosy for SOLA I'd be inclined to think that the overall trend will still be upward (and therefore will be holding on to my shares!), would agree with Harry to buy on dips.

For those who are inclined to buy and hold rather than trade too actively, the question definitely should be, "Where will the SP be in 6 -12 - 18 months?"

Did Merrills say 800p?

cynic - 25 Jan 2007 10:50 - 586 of 3050

well i am a trader and reckon i did the right thing just now by selling at 535 as i suspect there will be profit-taking across the board with the likes of SOLA being more prone to (downwards!) volatility.

soul traders - 25 Jan 2007 10:53 - 587 of 3050

I think you may be right, Cynner; it's come off a bit already: SOLA Bid: 528p Offer: 534p Change: 41

BTW, seen CBOX?? - winning yet more contracts and I still seem to be the only BB poster who cares!!!

fortitude18 - 25 Jan 2007 12:13 - 588 of 3050

oh cynic

you talk some shite..2 weeks ago it was going to 400p or below..contracts to come, factory completion update and fullyear results in february with analysts update..

'downwards volatility'..nonsense..the chart says otherwise..i give up..

trader! i don't vink so

cynic - 25 Jan 2007 13:03 - 589 of 3050

you do your thing, i'll do mine!
as you cannot be bothered to read what i actually wrote, i cannot be bothered with you any more than you with me

yes, sp has shot away yet again, though on no news at all ..... to my mind, indicative of potentially dangerous hype and price-chasing.
am very happy to have banked (another) 53p profit at 535 ..... when i did so, there was a build up of sell orders at 533.

shall i get back in again?
no doubt, the timing to be decided.

hlyeo98 - 25 Jan 2007 13:11 - 590 of 3050

SOLA is shooting like a rocket heading now towards 600p. Great!

soul traders - 25 Jan 2007 13:55 - 591 of 3050

moneyplus - 25 Jan 2007 14:21 - 592 of 3050

ST-please translate!! what a lovely day!!

hlyeo98 - 25 Jan 2007 14:26 - 593 of 3050

SOLA will go to 800p next week

soul traders - 25 Jan 2007 14:46 - 594 of 3050

LOL - sorry, MP, couldn't wait to see who would be the first to ask !!

"ILTFSM" mostly stands for "I love the stock market", and I'll let you use your imagination for the "F".

:o)

cynic - 25 Jan 2007 14:57 - 595 of 3050

you do until some sp suddenly collapses and you get totally and utterly shafted

soul traders - 25 Jan 2007 16:03 - 596 of 3050

It's all in a day's speculating, Mr. C. :o)
