Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

required field - 05 Dec 2016 13:55 - 5934 of 12628

This business of parliament possibly deciding whether the UK leaves the EU or not is quite unacceptable !.....it leaves the impression that we don't really live in a democracy.....in fact a dodgy court ruling in favour of MP's deciding Britain's fate is comparable to being invited to a catering function of some sort where there is a choice between fish or meat on the menu, and regardless of the majority opting for the latter : everbody gets served the batter !......

Fred1new - 05 Dec 2016 14:39 - 5935 of 12628

OK.

Out is out and we are happy to have borders put up.

All European ports and sea and air are banned by the UK or with huge tariffs imposed etc..

No negotiations needed or accepted.

Theresa and cronies can sign anything for small payments into their bank accounts etc.

What hell is parliament with all its faults there for.

All politicians are corrupt and you know that for a fact. (If not ask granny's boy.)

Just in it for what they can get.

Or is that all business-men. (I am forgetting.)

Get real.

Referendum OUT.

OUT where and for what?

What a small elite want or think they want at the moment?

Bloody daft.

VICTIM - 05 Dec 2016 14:49 - 5936 of 12628

Get real , Freda COMING FROM YOU .

2517GEORGE - 05 Dec 2016 14:58 - 5937 of 12628

Too late now though .

Fred you more than anyone on this thread is behaving like the little Englander, open your mind, we had Commonwealth countries as our trading partners until we signed up to a 'Common Market'. Now with globalisation the whole world (including Europe) can be our trading partners.

The so-called elite are themselves to blame for 'Brexit', 'Trump' and the Italian vote. For too long they have ignored the ordinary hard working person, imposed unimaginable austerity on the many countries, and consigned vast numbers of young European working age people to the scrap heap.

grannyboy - 05 Dec 2016 15:52 - 5940 of 12628

And they are still ignoring the people...The judges have referred to the fact
that when the UK joined the EU(COMMON MARKET) they put it to both the
Houses, and the judges have asked that, that means they should ask the
Houses when they want to leave...But that 'TOTALLY DISREGARDS THE RESULTS
OF THE REFERENDUM AND THE WILL OF THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLES, And
the fact that parliament voted nearly 10-1 in favour of holding a referendum,
and so with the LEAVE result giving the government the right to trigger article50'...

After the referendum in 1975 on staying in the COMMON MARKET when the
result was to stay in, there wasn't any shennanigans or legal disputes, it was
taken as a done deal and left to the powers that be, and look where it took us
40+ years later!....

Haystack - 05 Dec 2016 21:09 - 5941 of 12628

The court case is just about whether the government is behaving in a legal way. Even Parliament is subject to the rule of law which trumps everything. It has nothing to do with the will of the people. The law always trumps the will of the people as well.

cynic - 06 Dec 2016 05:07 - 5942 of 12628

trump and law do not sit happily in proximity to one another

grannyboy - 06 Dec 2016 08:15 - 5943 of 12628

Of course the government has behaved in a legal way....The fact parliament
had a vote on having the referendum, with a near 10-1 in favour of a referendum
, and with the result being to LEAVE then that gave the government the right
to trigger article50, WITHOUT HAVING TO GO BACK TO PARLIAMENT!!!!

And its just being reported on sky news that all these anti Brexit remoaners
are now threatening to band together to get May to divulge her Brexit plans.

AND THESE FECKERS STILL HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SPOUT TO ANYONE WHO
WILL LISTEN THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO STOP BREXIT AND RESPECT THE
WILL OF THE PEOPLE!!!!

Now you've got to understand that this is from a gaggle of LYING..DECEIVING..
SCUMBAGS, who have the EU project running through their veins!!!!

MaxK - 06 Dec 2016 08:21 - 5944 of 12628

Half the judges have skin in the game .. check out their ties with €uropa.

Joe Say - 06 Dec 2016 08:58 - 5945 of 12628

Bang on Max - the idea that they are independent is laughable

Time for a revolution me thinks

--------

Who makes the law ,a minority .

Dil - 06 Dec 2016 09:53 - 5947 of 12628

These remoaners who want everything debated to ensure we get a good deal are going to be the reason why we get no fecking deal at all if all our cards are out in the open.

Bloody loonies the lot of them who have no real intention of respecting the will of the people but are just out to block and sabotage any attempt at leaving.

Should all be shot for treason starting with Farron and that silly cow Gina.

Dil - 06 Dec 2016 09:54 - 5948 of 12628

Your near the top of the list too Fred :)

jimmy b - 06 Dec 2016 10:26 - 5949 of 12628

You forgot to mention Clegg Dil .

Dil - 06 Dec 2016 10:59 - 5950 of 12628

Aye and Sturgeon and the idiot in charge of Welsh Assembly.

Wales voted out , he lost seats and voters left right and centre to UKIP and the chump thinks he speaks for us on Brexit !

Dil - 06 Dec 2016 11:06 - 5951 of 12628

To be honest I really don't give a flying shit if half a dozen sheep farmers in Wales lose their EU subsidies when freedom of movement and the single market has meant factories closing in Wales and being relocated to Eastern European countries with the loss of 100's probably 1000's of jobs here in Wales.

jimmy b - 06 Dec 2016 11:36 - 5952 of 12628

While the immigrants that we so badly need in booming Britain flood in.

VICTIM - 06 Dec 2016 11:48 - 5953 of 12628

This is what gets me , how many hundreds of thousand are going to make their way here with nothing to stop them in the next 30 odd months , whether there are jobs or not . Just dump themselves on us and stay it's criminal .
