THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

unbelievable
considering that no one expected more than 290/295 seats, it's amazing the polls and the calcs, even from ashcroft, were so far adrift

i really do hope that the conservatives do not prove as spiteful in their own way as labour would have done in theirs
however, i don't see how you lop £12bn off the welfare budget in the course of the parliament, but then that of course becomes the annual budget, without serious nastiness

The face of politics has changed dramatically, out go the two Ed's, Cleggy, Farage, Vince Cable, Danny Alexander and Ed Davey. The Lib Dems have been decimated.

Hilary
I is quite satisfying that we were both right about the result quite along way back including a majority.

TANKER - 08 May 2015 16:35 - 59959 of 81564

Nicola should get the Victoria cross for her good work killing of labour
the evil vile woman did a good job

jimmy b - 08 May 2015 16:40 - 59960 of 81564

Haystack - 08 May 2015 16:46 - 59961 of 81564

Osborne is Chancellor and Deputy PM.

2517GEORGE - 08 May 2015 16:49 - 59962 of 81564

He has resigned jimmy b, but I see that you are also correct as he will consider putting his name forward for re-election as leader after the summer. I notice he has had 2 stints as leader (2006 - 2009 and 2010 - today).

I think he is UKIP , without him at the helm it wouldn't have done so well ...

2517GEORGE - 08 May 2015 16:55 - 59964 of 81564

Haystack, Hilary, maybe the 3 of us should apply for jobs at Lord Ashcrofts polls, we were certainly more accurate then the incumbents.

Haystack - 08 May 2015 16:57 - 59965 of 81564

If UKIP had not existed, we would be looking at a majority of 100+.

2517GEORGE - 08 May 2015 17:07 - 59966 of 81564

They polled over 12% of the votes I believe, bit rough on them really, only getting 1 mp.

Dil - 08 May 2015 18:15 - 59970 of 81564

Tie Miliband to it and chuck it in the Thames.

hilary - 08 May 2015 18:31 - 59971 of 81564

Tie Fred and Stan to it and chuck it in the Thames. Nah, on second thoughts, their bitter effluence would probably kill the fish!
