How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

"price collapsed to 1.5 with the sending off"

Aha, I can't work out the odds then. I can't do it if there is a sending off, I haven't completely worked that out yet.

This ManU match is dreadful, I am going to switch to something else.

the one worry i have is arsenal often fail to break down 10 men (though often do well with 10 themselves!)

bakko - 22 Nov 2005 21:07 - 6013 of 10502

Scrip, Totally agree with you .

I'm even tempted to watch Arsenal instead. LOL

Very poor performance by Utd, they look a spent force.

Scripophilist - 22 Nov 2005 21:37 - 6018 of 10502

Looks like Reading will top the championship tonight. Hope they go up then I will have a premiership club 20mins from my front door!

bakko - 22 Nov 2005 21:38 - 6019 of 10502

Got nothing out of tonight's games.

Didn't have the heart to scalp the ManU draw even though it was obvious that the game was pitiful.

if memory serves me right theyve only scored in 1 game out of 5 in Europe so far - not the stats of a side likely to go through needing to win away from home.

Will be interesting to see if Mr Glazer will be getting the chequebook out in january
