Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Haystack says above
"They have no advertising to sell" Then perhaps BBC should start competing with ITV etc and go out and get some advertising instead of expecting a free ride from license payers.
"They are supposed to be a public broadcasting service". We have "watchdogs" to control whether broadcasting is fair i.e political points of view etc. ...
We can get round this poor excuse - let's sell shares in BBC, try and turn a profit, get ride of wastage, yet write into "articles" of BBC about fair broadcasting.
Let's save every household in the UK, the license fee. I live abroad and get BBC for nothing as do millions of people living outside UK - is that fair to license payers ?

ExecLine - I have no idea what you are writing about ?
Yes BBC does have some good programmes just like ITV.
Personally I do not want hours of tennis or cricket and even snooker.
I do like Antiques Roadshow, but am passive about Dragon's Den and Countryfile.
Even Top Gear which everyone seemed to rave about was getting very stale and I think ITV had better motoring programme " Classic Cars"
Watch Sky if you want to subscribe, but I no longer want to.
I live in Spain and watch free Spanish TV, ITV, and free BBC and some other free TV and I believe I am properly informed about the news as I wish.
We are not legally obliged to pay TV license fees in Spain every year.
How about having a UK referendum whether we should continue with BBC as it is

I have just looked up what license fee payers have to pay for BBC.
£3.735 billion - can that be correct !!!
Yes - about 25 million household paying about £145 a year.
For Christ's sake let's privatise it and help those who are struggling with London and elsewhere shortages of housing.
While I am at it - why should people with homes worth over £1m not have to pay inheritance tax - very nice if you live in the South and London.
Mind you we do live in a two tier country with different tax rates for Londoners.
Just a pity the young can not afford to buy a house now - how selfish is this.
Nice if you are a property millionaire Londoner, who has done bugger all but live in the same house for the past 20 years.
There is not much chance of a northerner getting a million quid for doing nothing, so why no inheritance tax ????????????

Mr TANKER - you really must widen your vocabulary.
You must learn how to put a strong argument without having to use "crap" and "shit"
which I understand as being the hard toilet waste product.
Arse hole - I believe is the hole in our bottoms where the above said crap and shit are excreted . Scum, I take it is the floating soap etc after washing up.
The use of these words will never strengthen your arguments -
At least the BBC do not have such a vivid vocabulary as you do.
Maybe we should keep the BBC after all. It does teach us to moderate our language.

One thing that irritates me about the BBC is the money they pay presenters and the likes . Take Gary Linaker , match of the day he's on millions yet he's just signed up with BT as well , presenting European games equally probably on millions . Bloody disgraceful he's actually just average at best and not worthy of any where near what he's paid

also while I am at it - re BBC, inheritance tax, two tier UK /London property-
I hate dogs ( re above video ).
It seems everybody owning a dog in Spain, waits till it is dark when they can not be seen, then creeps out with a dog, so it can shit on the footpath.
Did I say shit, I think I should say make a poo, for the benefit of Mr TANKER.
Then in the mornings we can step on it or just evaluate the size and and try to walk around it.
Are people with dogs missing something in their lives ?????????????????

No. But I guess you are, you miserable git.
My dog loves me to bits and I do think she actually loves my wife even more than me.
Here's just one little example of the joy she brings us...
If we want to go out and leave her at home, we tell her, "Poppy stay. Poppy in your basket" and off she immediately and obediently trots. Then she sits bolt upright in her basket. She does this act so innocently and obediently, it nearly brings tears to both of us.
We recognise, that she has utter trust in us, you see. We guess that she does know, that we provide everything for her and particularly so, for my wife.
She doesn't seem to like her tail grooming and will complain bitterly about it. However, if you move your head closer to her whilst you are grooming her tail, she will try lick you to bits on your face. Her tongue is so clean and her breath is so sweet. Her teeth are perfection and so utterly bright white. Her fur is so curly and silky and is now a 'cappuccino' colour.
She loves to be mentally challenged with any kind of task. Her favourite game is 'Find your dummy.' The 'dummy' is a canvas cartridge. We can 'Hide your face' - one of us holds her face so that she can't see what is going on. The other of us goes off to 'Hide the dummy."
Where? Say, between the pillows on the spare bed; under the duvet on the spare bed; under her basket; inside the 'throw' that's on one of the easy chairs; behind the settee top; in one of my walking boots inside the cloaks cupboard but with a coat over it. The harder the place, the harder she looks for it.
Why does she like this game so much? She is so enthralled to see how pleased we are when she finds it.
You are seriously missing out. We wouldn't sell her now for 20 times what we paid for her, which was a lot. We would spend a fortune on any of her health requirements. Fortunately, though she is insured.
And what breed is she?
A mongrel.
Some might call her a 'Designer dog' though. She is a chocolate cockapoo.
Is she intelligent?
Hmmm? With balls, sometimes I don't think she can count to more than 1. But she is very ball obsessed and we are trying to train her out of that.
And with training?
She is definitely 'top of the class'.

To ExecLine and dog Poppy.
I have now come to realise what a miserable git I am. You with your kind words have
made me feel like Scrooge and I regret all the joy I have been missing over all these
hard years, by not having a dog like Poppy. Thank you for trying to change my life for
the better, but it seems as I am now 70, I can no longer turn the years back. After
your blog, I felt like such a miserable git that I did consider telephoning a help line.
Does Poppy make nice poos, and does she go to a proper toilet ?
I had a cat once - Actually my son and wife wanted a dog, and I skillfully managed
to talk them into getting a cat, which I thought maybe a better option. The cat cost me a small fortune in veterinary fees, and best quality cat food, usually eating tuna, being better food than I had most days. Then my son left home, and my wife passed
away, so I was left to care for dear "Rocky". He only seemed to like the dearest cat food, so I bought about ten tins of food a week. Rocky would eat all his meal then go
and sit outside a neighbors house and whine away as if he was being starved.
That neighbor thought I was such a cruel bastard, ( and also a miserable git ) who
did not love animals ??? In fact I was advised by my vet that poor Rocky, being an
old cat had a liver problem and always felt hungry.
From now on when I see dog poo on my footpath in Spain, I will think of you and
Poppy, and remember the good times you and Poppy are having.
Do not think too harshly of me, I am basically a good person, and not always a miserable git. I do have a lady friend and she says she loves me, so I can't be all
that bad. I don't think she loves me just for my money ??? I think I may need help !

Tonight is actually
'Fun night' at our local dog club.
I can't wait! They tell me some of the dogs tonight are hot, hot, hot.
Are there any really vibrant dog clubs around where you live?
Hmmm? That's probably a daft question and the answer is a very definite 'No!"
