LOOKS like they are playing with the spread again

Yesterday it was 40%,currently under 10%,good to see blue but dont be fooled, holding and hoping like everyone else in these.

Oily Jim - 18 Aug 2006 10:35 - 619 of 1049

Shares Magazine dated 17th August on page 20 are saying Black Rock Oil & Gas is a good buy.

It must be true then :-)

I topped up yesterday anyway so lets hope the news comes over the next few months.

MOVINUP

in the case of volatile share, it is better to do your own homework, then you can decide for longterm, medium or short term. i am in for medium term for now but if the balance sheet gets stronger i will convert to longterm but volatile means any good news will send the share into high places in shorterm and any crazy new will send it for repair. however it is MOVINUP and the future looks bright and i can afford to miss the boat. best luck

soul traders - 18 Aug 2006 11:58 - 621 of 1049

Movinup, this stock is quite volatile, and the spread large, so IMO it tends to be a medium-term hold. Current price is cheap tho.

From Advn news

Black Rock also advanced, up 0.15 pence to 1.10 after the group's FD Peter
John Hughes announced he was stepping down, sparking takeover speculation talk.

moneyman - 19 Aug 2006 13:57 - 625 of 1049

Yes just saw that...interesting and may spark some activity Monday.

georgetrio - 19 Aug 2006 14:06 - 626 of 1049

MONEYMAN
are you mad, only some activities? please say together with me: some cash flow.
yes, cash will do nicely. best luck moneyman

soul traders - 19 Aug 2006 15:30 - 627 of 1049

Interesting, but takeover rumours have been rife this year.

georgetrio - 19 Aug 2006 15:55 - 628 of 1049

With the oil industries awashed with cash, what else can they do than buy juicy little fishes. watch out that they don't come for STERLING ENERGY OR SEY COMES FOR ANY OTHER FISH. VER INTERESTING INDEED

cynic - 19 Aug 2006 20:55 - 629 of 1049

sorry to disagree, but having a stack of cash does not mean that a company has to throw it at a minnow or even a larger fish ..... a takeover needs to make economic sense to the predator

georgetrio - 19 Aug 2006 22:44 - 630 of 1049

cynic
yes, they will only buy the best. no question about that but will they buy? yes because they are financially capable.

movinup - 20 Aug 2006 18:38 - 631 of 1049

cheers everyone, dont do a lot of investing, limited funds, so i looking for safe options rather than, losing my hard earned, any advice appreciated,
movin.

Rutherford - 20 Aug 2006 20:15 - 632 of 1049

Movinup.: This could be a great investment but please do your own research as this is very high risk and not for the faint hearted just like all small Exploration companies. NOP are far less risky but I have held BLR for over two years and staying till the end one way or another.

georgetrio - 20 Aug 2006 20:38 - 633 of 1049

movinup
if you don't want to lose, buy bonds, or use savings account. but if you want to win, you should be prepare to lose too and rejoice. i like little fishes which come with high risk and high reward but only after a lot of homework or diggings. now how much are you prepare to lose? and how much are prepare to win. if you start, you will lose then you will win but the decision must always be yours.
best luck and be strong

movinup - 21 Aug 2006 08:02 - 634 of 1049

cheers.looks like an exciting challange.

movinup - 21 Aug 2006 08:16 - 635 of 1049

why do people buy less than 50 worth ?

austing2253 - 21 Aug 2006 08:22 - 636 of 1049

movinup, How long is a piece of string? Always do your own research. You win some, you lose some. Hopefully, if you have done your research properly you win more than you lose. Be prepared to lose all!!!

Only invest in shares, especially these pennyshares, when you have paid off your debts and have about 3 - 6 months savings you can put your hands on in an emergency.

Hope this helps...

movinup - 21 Aug 2006 09:00 - 637 of 1049
