Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

in this instance, you may wish "nothing" but assuredly that will not be the case if "out" carries the day

somewhat to my surprise, Beloved is adamant that she will vote "out" and it is a racing certainty that i shall too

however, "in" remains strong favourite to carry the day

At PMQs a few moments ago, Cameron said that he will remain as PM if the referendum vote is out.

the option may not be in his hands

Cameron WILL be gone if the vote is to LEAVE..

We don't need a snake oil salesman running the country, we need someone who believes in the country..

On PMQT dougla carsdale specifically asked the PM, that should the Referendum vote go against him and we vote to Leave, would he still stay on and implement the necessary changes.

"Yes," was the PM's one word reply.

So there you have it. He does obviously believe in the country. But as to whether his negotiative skills are up to the job.... Hmmm?

A large amount of the Con party is in revolt at the moment.

Do you think the revolting group of "exiters" would allow Dodgy Dave to negotiate with the EU if the referendum vote is to exit?

There would probably be a challenge to his position as leader of the party and PM and probably he would lose his position.

I think that the electoral commission has to designate one group as official tomorrow. They get £600,000 of public money, use to public meeting rooms and access to the electoral roll.

It will either be Farage's group or Boris's.

Yes the electorial commission should announce tomorrow on who represents the two sides..There's only one on the remain side, Stronger in Europe, (not counting the Pro Labour/LibDems/Business)..

On the LEAVE side, there is several, but the two favourites are Vote Leave and GO..I believe it should be GO because they contain the most universal in those from politics, business and the general public, but its been intimated that the westminster side containing mostly tory's in the vote leave will be successful...

3) if uk leaves eu, we ought to regain better control of who does or not come into the country ........ however, if we want meaningful trade with eu, then freedom of movement for eu citizens will be difficult to resist ..... however, uk may be able to restrict what benefits and similar can be claimed

cynic i don't agree with that providing Fred's not in power ,we will have control over the amount of people who can come and live here,we will not have to take thousands of unskilled East Europeans every day .

That is exactly what is needed at the moment and will be even more if we stay in the EU.

Vote Leave is considered the front-runner. It is being backed by senior ministers including Michael Gove and Chris Grayling, as well as Iain Duncan Smith who has just resigned from the Cabinet and the London Mayor, Boris Johnson.

It is being challenged by the Grassroots Out group, which stresses its popular credentials. It has the backing of Conservative and Labour MPs, as well as the Ukip leader Nigel Farage.

There are a few other groups, but it will be one of these two.

The electoral commission will base their decision on cross party support, organisational ability and funding.

Why don't they just get together just for one purpose .

There are other considerations of a political nature. Both sides want bragging rights if we leave. Farage won't be happy taking a backseat role and it will be damaging to UKIP. Boris wants to lead the official group for obvious reasons. One consideration of the electorall commission in making its decision is the ability of the groups to work with each other. They have already had meetings with the groups in the same room.

This is the only chance we are EVER likely to get a vote, and so there should have been total unity to achieve the desired goal...

644 - history shows that you're theory is wishful thinking ...... if you look at norway and even switzerland (i think) there is freedom of movement for all eu citizens as the trade-off for dealing with eu with no restrictive tariffs

whether or not their benefits and similar are restyricted, i don't know
