Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

The problem in France is :that the French people are very relaxed with the Muslim population around them ; effectively you cannot blame all french arabs/muslims for what happened yesterday evening, just abolishing frontiers in europe is a bad.. bad mistake by the eurozone countries.....also Paris and France in general has very few cctv cameras,..
I hate to say this but the reason is that they don't want people ratting on them when they sleep with the neighbours wife for instance....that might sound harsh...I'm sorry if it does but that is the reality of how it is.....you cannot stop guns getting into france with the present european system....drive along the border motorways ; you cross into Germany Italy Belgium....no controls...nobody stops you...nobody cares either.....so preventing international terrorism is going to be difficult.....and France is going to face some tough decisions in clamping down on their arab/maghreb migrants and the generations of north africans that have been in france for perhaps a hundred years or so now...

It also boils down to that third world immigration into europe has to be stopped.....and these attacks will continue and get worse.....the UK must be on its guards....these muslim extremists, murderers from Syria/Iraq will stop at nothing to slaughter innocent people...

cities like marseille and certain banlieues of paris have long had very considerable racial tensions
however, in one respect your comment is certainly correct, and that relates to the schengen agreement
when that was introduced, though uk refused to join, no one ever dreamed of the widespread terrorist threat now we now have

fred and the bleeding heart brigade will witter as they always do about increased security measures, but it would be criminally negligent to fail to introduce and enforce these
it takes a while to get through airport security?

Countertracking these terrorists is going to be difficult !...and I reckon that intrusions by : MI5/MI6 is going to be part of everyday life and has to be accepted by all : as they are never going to be able to stop/prevent attacks like last night without spying on the general population...hopefully respecting private lives....the more checks at airports the better !....

WARSAW - Poland cannot accept migrants under European Union (EU) quotas after Friday's attacks in Paris, Poland's European affairs minister designate Konrad Szymanski said on Saturday.
In a commentary published in the right-leaning news portal wPolityce.pl, Szymanski said his incoming government did not agree with Poland's commitment to accept its share of an EU-wide relocation of immigrants, and now, "in the face of the tragic acts in Paris, we do not see the political possibilities to implement (this)."
Szymanski will take up his position on Monday as part of a government formed by the last month's election winner, the conservative and eurosceptic Law and Justice (PiS) party.

Well...yes...it is not possible to continue like this...... in fact the attacks last night have given President Hollande carte blanche as far as sending troops in to finish Isis once and for all....

somewhat cynically, DC's hand re restricting even eu immigrants has of course been immeasurably strengthened

Last night there were reports on BBC news that the 'Jungle' immigrant campsite in Calais was on fire. It may have been a revenge attack by the French. It is not being mentioned today, maybe to avoid increasing tensions.

RIP, Alf Garnett. Aged 89.
Yes Sir, Mr Warren Mitchell, you did a damn good job with the playing of that TV character and you had us all in stitches. It was as rascist as hell - but it was funny. Or was it? I think we all knew, that 'it was TV and humour' and not 'how it actually was'.
Those 'Alf Garnett days' were the days when you could call a man from Pakistan 'a Paki' and a black man 'a Coon' and without getting into any legal trouble for it.
Looking back on them now, it's a good job they have gone. It wasn't right to say such stuff then and it definitely isn't now.
But back then it was actually rascist for some and so some of it was real. Thank goodness it isn't like that now and TV humour like that is now actually banned. In the banning of it, it does make the world a better place.
And Tanker, you are quite wrong. It's not 'ALL Muslims', it's just some of them committing these current atrocities.

In fact, it is a tiy number of Muslims who are involved in terrorism. A bit like saying Catholics were responsible for the holocaust because Hitler was actually a Catholic.

Life wad so different in Alf Garnett's day, it is amazing to remember that Lenny Henry was in the Black and White Minstrel Show. He said that he was surprised when he looked back on it.

Major fire covering several acres of the 'jungle'.
Reports of many people leaving the 'jungle' in the past weeks because of intimidation from jihadists who had come from Syria and who were stirring things, Trying to get people to be more militant.
