Just done a fibbonacci thing from the bottom on 15th Oct, to the high of 1.9050 and this goves interim targets of 1.8790, 1.8850, 1.8930 then the 1.9050

hilary - 20 Oct 2006 07:58 - 6457 of 11056

I'm happy to stay long all the time it's in that channel, Seymour. It took a bit of time to develop and find the support just above 1.85, but it now looks to be clearly defined and isn't rising too steeply, so I'm comfortable with that.

I shalln't be around much over the next week or so, so I'll just adjust my stops each morning and evening and leave it at that.

closed my euro/usd long at the top of recent rally
Pleased with my exit...

added to my Cable long on that dip....

foale - 20 Oct 2006 09:36 - 6459 of 11056

well the top of that channel would be a nice close...
if we can get over 1.8800 that is....

reduced position size slightly at 1. 8824 top of SC's channel

chocolat - 20 Oct 2006 10:07 - 6460 of 11056

Heading for a sticky bit here, 1.8826, imo. If cable can push through then I shall be very watchful of the 1.8950 area.

Edit: just seen your edit foale

foale - 20 Oct 2006 10:20 - 6461 of 11056

Hi Choccy...yes exactly...hard to call...dont want to be left with no long..but also felt it might be capped short term...so decided to reduce a bit...

You think brek could target 1.8950.. yes..I would probably lighten up some more at 1.8900 ish.

At least we are trending up..

bakko - 20 Oct 2006 10:59 - 6462 of 11056

Still half asleep here :-0

Thanks to Chocs, Bos et al for last night and this morning, great time.

Hope others aren't picking up the wrong signals ;-)

Harlosh - 20 Oct 2006 11:15 - 6463 of 11056

Not traded much this week due to other commitments.

Wished I'd taken notice of this chart though - the target of 8825 (given on Tuesday) looks spot on today if we don't see another high.

The target of 9030 is interesting

Seymour Clearly - 20 Oct 2006 12:35 - 6464 of 11056

Lunchtime look in - nice smile again. Moved my stop up to just below 1.8800.

MightyMicro - 20 Oct 2006 13:01 - 6465 of 11056

SC:

Please use the correct terminology on this thread: That'll be a fibonacci thingie or even wotsit :)

Seymour Clearly - 20 Oct 2006 13:47 - 6466 of 11056

As I said before MM, I'm just the apprentice.

Beginning to get a bit paranoid about the number of things (thingies?) you correct me on :-))

foale - 20 Oct 2006 14:30 - 6467 of 11056

so where is the exit level guys... 1.8900 1.8950

bakko - 20 Oct 2006 14:51 - 6468 of 11056

I'm yet to get in :-(

Been sat on the sidelines all week and it aint very profitable!

foale - 20 Oct 2006 15:05 - 6469 of 11056

Exited Cable at 1.8835 up 122 and 141 pleased with that...

Seymour Clearly - 23 Oct 2006 09:02 - 6470 of 11056

Stopped out for +99 this morning, had a feeling it would drift lower. Anyway, with no announcements today and half term I'll probably sit and watchy from the sidelines.

foale - 23 Oct 2006 10:04 - 6471 of 11056

1.8750 bottom of recent up channel

Seymour Clearly - 23 Oct 2006 11:16 - 6472 of 11056

Just gone long again at 1.8740, very tight stop......

edit stopped out

bakko - 23 Oct 2006 11:17 - 6473 of 11056

Check out this Ernst and Young report from yesterday's Sunday Times which suggests robust UK growth this and continuing into next year.

More short and medium term UK interest rate hikes in the pipeline expected and with none coming from across the pond, this further strengthens by opinion for cable to head in a northerly direction over the next few months.

bakko - 23 Oct 2006 11:28 - 6474 of 11056

SC, Sorry you got stopped out.

Be careful in the future not to go against the trend on no news days. Speaking from personal past experiences.

Seymour Clearly - 23 Oct 2006 12:00 - 6475 of 11056

Yes, I know it was stupid.... Thanks.

Was wondering about a short in the 860's but didn't do anything....
