Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

There are other considerations of a political nature. Both sides want bragging rights if we leave. Farage won't be happy taking a backseat role and it will be damaging to UKIP. Boris wants to lead the official group for obvious reasons. One consideration of the electorall commission in making its decision is the ability of the groups to work with each other. They have already had meetings with the groups in the same room.

VICTIM, yes agree but the Vote Leave side had other idea's...
This is the only chance we are EVER likely to get a vote, and so there should have been total unity to achieve the desired goal...

644 - history shows that you're theory is wishful thinking ...... if you look at norway and even switzerland (i think) there is freedom of movement for all eu citizens as the trade-off for dealing with eu with no restrictive tariffs
whether or not their benefits and similar are restyricted, i don't know

Well lets get the FACTS right shall we.....
IF IT WAS'NT FOR UKIP THERE WOULD'NT BE A REFERENDUM!!!
We've had promises in the past, from ALL of the establishment parties to have a vote, but they've all gone against their words.

Nigel Farage has been quite open to a unified LEAVE side, It's been the Vote Leave who's rejected unity..

"is that boris and his merry men or farage and his nutters"
Now why would you make a statement like that cynic????
Seeing has the GO side holds a more mixed political/business/public opinion from a more universal grouping...

Obviously the electoral commission didn't take that view.

I was wrong about the 7 million pounds from the government,
the 7 mil has to be raised by the sides, they do get several hundred
thousands to cover mail shots etc.
Other registered campaigns are only allowed to spend up to 700K each
during the period.
Vote Leave have said the official remain campaign, the Government and political parties on the remain side can spend a staggering 26.6 million pounds.
On the Leave side, the maximum amount they can spend is 11.7 million pounds...Two and a half times less.

The Electoral Commission
"We received two high quality applications on the ‘Leave’ side, from ‘Vote Leave Ltd’ and ‘The Go Movement Ltd’. After careful consideration, the Commission decided that ‘Vote Leave Ltd’ better demonstrated that it has the structures in place to ensure the views of other campaigners are represented in the delivery of its campaign. It therefore represents, to a greater extent than ‘Go Movement Ltd’, those campaigning for the ‘Leave’ outcome, which is the test we must apply.”

========================
Hays without Nigel Farage we would never have had the vote so if we leave we have him to thank.
Cameron only agreed to this because of the rise of UKIP and the mood of the country at the time .
