Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?
If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?
Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

PA hints it may turn to ICC over new W. Bank, J'lem units
Senior PLO official Ashrawi says approval of 3,000 housing units a flagrant violation of 4th Geneva Convention: "The world must hold Israel accountable for its aggression against the lands of the occupied State of Palestine."
The Palestinian Authority hinted Saturday that it was considering complaining to the International Criminal Court against Israel for approving the construction of 3000 housing units in east Jerusalem and the West Bank.
PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi said that the Israeli decision was a "war crime" and an "act of aggression against the State of Palestine."

I looked up the 4th Geneva Convention the other day. It is quite long, but the important bit is article 49 and is as follows:-
"Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention relative to the protection of civilian persons in time of war states: "The occupying power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own population into the territories it occupies."

Well, my mother's mother was called Sarah after my great grandmother who was a Sarah and who was Jewish. I thought that if your mother was Jewish it passed down the maternal line. Isn't the strict view that you can't be Jewish unless your mother is Jewish. I checked the details, they married in 1874. She was born in 1844 in Whitechapel. Don't worry, I am not planning on doing anything apart from being an athiest. Of course there is the another part which is Irish catholic from Dublin.

that much is true, but orthodox requires both parents to be jewish - i think!
jewishness is mater-lineal (you like that made up word?) because you know who the mother is but not necessarily the father - good tribal basics

Materlineal without the hyphen is an actual word and it means what you thought.
Edit
Also matrilineal

East Jerusalem project could bury two-state solution
Plans would effectively bisect the West Bank and sever the physical link between the Palestinian territories and Jerusalem.

Cynic,
I am not sure about Hay's prepuce, but he has a quite a lot of balls to post on this thread as has done.
I think his foresight on the ME is also better than many. Some have seem to have taken their eyes of the balls and think they can continue under the old "rules".

Maturing nicely. Just have to change some other stances.

when HS gets off his purblind hobby-horse, he's quite sensible, but most of the time one has to do a great deal of filtering before one can form something approaching a balanced view

Israel has announced today that it is withholding about 120m dollars of taxes that it collects on behalf of the PA in the West Bank as a punishment for going to the UN. Not a good idea to push the inhabitants of the WB too far. The Arab spring may arrive at Israel's door.

Europe threatens to withdraw support for Israel over settlement building plans
German, Dutch, British, and French envoys communicated their protest over Israel's plan to construct 3,000 housing units in East Jerusalem, as well as other West Bank settlement blocs, announced after UN vote on Palestine.
Europe has been putting heavy diplomatic pressure on Israel to reverse its decision to proceed with development plans for a new neighborhood in the area between Ma’aleh Adumim and Jerusalem, known as the E1 corridor. Since Friday, five senior European ambassadors have communicated strong words of protest to the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, all bearing the same main message.

This is an article about Israel, its real motives and its intentions to take more and more of Palestinian land.
It is written by Noam Chomsky and published today.
It makes very interesting reading. It is well worth reading it all.

it will of course be an OPINION and NOT necessarily correct let alone policy ..... however, israel's actions in recent days assuredly merit strong economic sanctions as mere world opprobrium will merely be shrugged off

Palestinians to UN: Israel must be held accountable for settlement expansion
Official PA complaint, lodged less than a week after status upgraded, warns that Israeli expansion forebodes further 'war crimes', adds that Israel is behaving 'in a rogue, hostile and arrogant manner'.
The Palestinians accused Israel in a letter to the United Nations of planning to commit further "war crimes" by expanding settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem after the Palestinians won de facto United Nations recognition of statehood and warned that Jerusalem must be held accountable.
In the letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN Security Council, the Palestinians said Israel was behaving "in a rogue, hostile and arrogant manner, contravening all principles and rules of international law and reacting with contempt to the will of the international community."

what you quote above does not REMOTELY equate to war crimes or anything approaching it, much as you obviously wish it did ..... do at least try to be an adult as objectivity is clearly beyond you , as you admit
