Aids,

If out of the melee in Libya comes a truly representative government, and it ask for military help from NATO or directly from Britain, then I think there is a moral responsibility to do so.

Therefore the answer is yes.

I would think even the most morally naive would come to that conclusion.

aldwickk - 25 Oct 2011 15:26 - 652 of 685

Aids,
I missed another factor for accepting a Libyan request for military intervention, if it came, and that is that France and the UK, instigated via NATO, a no fly zone and intervened and prosecuted the destruction of Gadaffi s forces which has led to his downfall and the chaos which Libya may descent into.

Both France and Britain have a political responsibility. If the UK was to renegade on their obvious responsibilities, they would be abdicating any future international political trust.
Creeping into a country, in a situation similar to that Libya is at present, on the lookout for contracts, as Cameron did in Egypt is likely to be less than gainful.

PS.

Other than those who are politically naive would be aware of the above.

We are withdrawing our troop's from Iraq and Afghanistan after 10 year's of daily British casualty's and wasted billion's of pound's , and Fred want's us to send British troop's into Libya on a Libyan request for military intervention.

Aids,

Well that is one interpretation.

Congratulations.

Showing your degree of comprehension your party needs you.

With all the bloodshed in Libya recently isnt it good to see a baby bought out of the house hit by an earthquake in Turkey.
