Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Oh, The above was "done" legally after court "decision".

Amazing, how some have "no rights" to their own land.

Bit like Nazi Germany in the 30s and 40s.

Suppose, with God on your side, it is back to the bullet and an "eye for an eye".

5 Broken Cameras- Israeli Film-
Oscar Nomination

"The film 5 Broken Cameras, by Emad Burnat from Bil'in is being censored in Israel and the Ministry of Education is prohibiting its screening in Israeli schools. The film is nominated for the Oscars this year.

The Israeli distributor of the film, however, screened for some students and filmed this little video to show the reaction of Israeli kids to the film. Just this small clip (which is below) shows the possibilities if more and more people really knew the reality of the Palestinian people under occupation and shows the power of peaceful, popular resistance. Maybe there is hope..."

What a brilliant way to uncover the systematic Brainwashing of Israeli youth....

......and also to send a wake up call to the World to focus on the suffering of a nation under occupation & the subjugation of a People.

UN inquiry calls for sanctions against Israel over West Bank settlements

HRC fact-finding mission's report released Thursday is the international body's harshest condemnation of Israeli policy in West Bank since 1967; UN investigators say Israel is in violation of the Geneva Conventions and must 'cease all settlement activities without precondition'.

A UN Human Rights Council fact-finding mission on Thursday released its harshest report over Israeli policy in the West Bank since 1967, urging governments and private corporations across the world to consider economic and political sanctions against Israel over its construction in the settlements. This is the first time such a call has been made from within the United Nations.

How Israel will be destroyed without one shot being fired
By S. Daniel Abraham

Without a peace agreement, the future is clear: The Palestinians will so outnumber the Jews that Israel will be forced to give them the vote; the first bill to pass in a Palestinian-majority parliament will change the country's name from Israel to Palestine, and the second bill will be a Palestinian 'Law of Return.'
Israel needs the Palestinian state to come into existence even more than the Palestinians do. Without it, Israel cannot continue as both a Jewish and a democratic state. If Israel doesn't reach a two-state settlement with the Palestinians very soon, then one day - likely sooner rather than later - the Jewish state as we know it will cease to exist.

UNHRC: Israel could be sent to ICC for settlements

The International Criminal Court of Justice could hold Israeli culpable for West Bank settlement activity if the Palestinians become party to the Rome Statue, a United Nations Human Rights Council probe concluded on Thursday.

A bit more important than the condemnation of a "cartoon" which was condensing what is happening in the "area" and symbolised by the "Wall".

yippee! looks who's back .... thought this hamas/hezbollah apparatchik had been mangled in the last israeli rocket attack; malheureursement, non!

Fred1new - 15 Feb 2013 08:16 - 6621 of 6906

Cynic,

I see when you awoke this morning you remain your usual charming self.

When is passover.

cynic - 15 Feb 2013 08:39 - 6622 of 6906

that comment was yesterday :-)

why would i wish an adherent of hamas/hezbollah a long life, any more than i would any of their isaeli counterparts of similar murdering attitude and mindset?

i am almost certain that passover always falls a few days before good friday, which also coincides from memory with the end of lent ..... this cannot be mere coincidence, but surely highlights the roots and close links between the two religions, though with the history of massacres of one visited upon the other over the centuries, it is hard to credit

Fred1new - 15 Feb 2013 09:31 - 6623 of 6906

" though with the history of massacres over the centuries of one brought upon the other, it is hard to credit"

Perhaps it is down to the distortion of the religions, by those who are said to be practising them.

cynic - 15 Feb 2013 09:35 - 6624 of 6906

exactly so, as is now most assuredly the case by the so-called islamic fundamentalists, who have chosen to forget (and bury) the fact that islam is a most tolerant religion at heart - should really say "fundamentally"!

Fred1new - 15 Feb 2013 10:09 - 6625 of 6906

Cynic,

Perhaps, should have used "propagating" rather than "practising".

an extract below re Syria ..... how come "The West" always looks to be half a pitch behind the game every time?

Jabah al Haq (this is one of the jihaidst groups fighting alongside the "rebels") is led by a charismatic young cleric called Sheik Abu al Homan.
I was taken to a secret location where a school was being used as a court to adjudicate on the many problems caused by the war raging across the city.
It is a strict Sharia court and he is advised by clerics and lawyers. That said, his word is law.
He was quiet and pleasant and his organisation is doing what every Jihad organisation from the Taliban to Hamas and al Qaeda has done: they are providing law and order and they are feeding and providing medicine for the people.
It works every time.

This is from an Israeli newspaper

After Palestinian prisoner dies in Shin Bet hands, time to question the interrogators

For years, Palestinian detainees and prisoners have complained about sleep deprivation, painful and prolonged handcuffing, humiliation, beatings and medical neglect. By international standards, this is torture.

Arafat Jaradat, 30, died while under interrogation by the Shin Bet security service. Every week dozens if not hundreds of Palestinians start down the road he began on February 18.
