Just got this from TT on ADVFN

BLACK ROCK OIL & GAS
(BLR:AIM) 1.2p
Theres not been too much to shout about since we tipped the oil and
gas independent at 1.2p two months ago (1 June) and the shares are
back where they started. However, striking a deal with the Gemini Fund
II to pay its 15% share of drilling expenses on the Monterey appraisal
well in the North Sea, in exchange for a share in future revenues,
means Black Rock has sensibly de-risked the project. With potential for
165 bcf of gas, the upside is substantial. Still a speculative punt but the
risk/reward pendulum is swinging its way.

'ere we go ! mms playing around with the bid price ! what a waste of time. pointless when they muck around with the sp.
Surely the outlook doesn't change from one minute to the other!?

soul traders - 29 Aug 2006 10:04 - 665 of 1049

Moneyman, is that not the quote from Shares Mag? Something about pendulums ("pendula"??) rings a bell.

Skyhigh, you're dead right. The outlook doesn't change from one minute to the next, hence the MM's need to fiddle with the price in order to shift stock and make money.

ptholden - 29 Aug 2006 10:18 - 666 of 1049

Bought into these last week with my GOO profits as a rather speculative punt. MMs just not interested at the moment and with 3 on the offer there doesn't appear to be a shortage of stock. A bit of good news will get it going though.

pth

georgetrio - 30 Aug 2006 00:11 - 667 of 1049

Why is the SHARES MAG highlighting BLR very often?
Probably they see its bright future IMO
in the SHARE MAG dated 02-08March 2006; SHARES said:

Tiny Black Rock Oil&Gas is the latest to strike a deal, getting an agreement from Kappa resources; its joint venture partner in the Acre Oil field, to press ahead with stream tests. BLR reckons there's five million barrels of recoverable oil from Acre and hopes to spring commercial production this year.

moneyman - 30 Aug 2006 10:32 - 668 of 1049

PTH when it moves it does rapidly. Hoods were controlling the offer and maybe still do. Lots of positive news still expected in the short term.

Well done on GOO btw

Marcel1970 - 05 Sep 2006 14:36 - 669 of 1049

Does anyone know when the next update is on BLR

Rutherford - 05 Sep 2006 16:31 - 670 of 1049

Believe Ivan Burgess to be back in the UK on Thursday and possible update of ARCE on Friday or Monday. This info is from another bulletin board so ------

explosive - 05 Sep 2006 22:19 - 671 of 1049

Its a waiting game I think now.

PT. Why'd you sell GOO, I'm still holding and still very up!!??

driver - 05 Sep 2006 23:03 - 672 of 1049

explosive
PT is away for three months he announced on the SER thread. Nice holiday if that's where his gone.

rpaco - 06 Sep 2006 13:51 - 673 of 1049

Diydave
You got any proper figures out of Ivan yet? Unless I missed something we still are none the wiser regarding the deal and how much is being given away for the future.
Also is the gear out of customs yet? Was it held for political reasons? How stable is Columbia, will they do an Equadore? Surely the drug cartels run Columbia, how will they react to a another major source of revenue in the country, have they been 0ut in; maybe it was them that held up the customs process.

I'm still in, in the hope of a flush of enthusiasm and some major player taking a good handfull of shares to push the SP up to 10p (or maybe it's just a dream)

movinup - 07 Sep 2006 10:28 - 674 of 1049

sp creeping up slowly.

georgetrio - 11 Sep 2006 01:27 - 675 of 1049

If one understands what's happening in Colombia and what's possible in the North sea, one may understand why the respected SHARES MAG put BLR in its
Oil & Gas watchlist. Below is the full list of the Mag watchlist

1..AFREN

2..BLACK ROCK OIL & GAS

3..GULFSANDS PETROLEUM

4..MAX PETROLEUM

5..TULLOW OIL

One thing is clear is that, not every little fish receives such attention from the SHARES Mag. this gives food for thought to eagle eyes investors. My view is that BLR management must prove their competence and bring the oil or the gas. how to know the future?

georgetrio - 11 Sep 2006 01:30 - 676 of 1049

No questions about it, the future is bright for BLR but good results should come first.

skyhigh - 11 Sep 2006 07:19 - 677 of 1049

Not sure about the "respected Shares Mag" bit, I'd be wary about thier tips,,, more go wrong than right !...... but I believe BLR can come good and will be sticking with it... but as you both say BLR needs to demonstrate it can produce and show good revenues/profits...:)

georgetrio - 11 Sep 2006 09:48 - 678 of 1049

Skyhigh
that's right, not always spot on but when you filter everything there is still respect to be given but the mistake is to take the tips at face value without looking at it with eagle eyes. Too right, I will be sticking with BLR too. best luck

Rutherford - 12 Sep 2006 16:10 - 679 of 1049

Burgess back in the UK after Colombia visit and should hear news in the next few days regarding Arce and hopefully some insight into when Monterey will start.

rpaco - 13 Sep 2006 15:22 - 680 of 1049

Any proper details of the Gemini dela yet? I mean with
all the figures?

Rutherford - 13 Sep 2006 16:08 - 681 of 1049

I assume we will get the details of the Gemini deal along with an update from Arce.

rpaco - 14 Sep 2006 14:55 - 682 of 1049

Just been given the brush off by Sue Wier. Basically shut up and wait!
