What's a forum without people posting, some friendly banter and opposing views. By MAMs decision to remove the above posters we now have less views and these forums have lost their humour and rich content. I say bring back GF and DB immediately.

cynic - Nothing against DB, he was never offensive to me or anybody else as far as i am aware. I did take his side against GF freely admit.

If anybody is in any doubt re GF and his odd ball ways check out FOXT thread. Start on page 6. For confirmation check out same thread across the road where he posts as mike740. The logic of de-ramping a stock when not even trading it is lost on me, throw in personal abuse against DB on this thread and both DB and CR across the road and you may change your mind. Not to mention multiple user names (who have conversations). DYOR this is not a one off. Do you really want this board to go the same way?

Apart from the above what sort of mental state would drive you to trash number of threads on here because posters disagreed with your point of view?

As you know we are very patient and very very tolerant with posters. In the 12 years we have been going, I can count on one hand those we have banned. We have a team of moderators who kindly keep an eye on the boards, so sometimes you will miss some of the more choice crap that’s posted as we remove it before most of you wake up!

We like free speech but when the enjoyment of others is impaired by individuals and they go beyond what is reasonable we take action as we have done in this case.

We did have a yellow card and a red card system in place but to be honest we never needed to use it because the posters themselves normally see off the rebels. So in a sense the board self moderates, we occasionally intervene with warnings both public to them on the BB’s and in private by email.

We have a good squelch button which does work but it only works when you squelch someone and don’t turn them back on again 5 minutes later. Some say they squelch a user and then instantly comment on the squelched users post, very odd!!

One of the users we banned this week decided to completely trash our BB’s over a weekend which meant our moderators and myself spent a good part of the weekend watching their antics. Goes with the job I suppose.

Sometimes individual egos get bigger than our boards, so it’s time for them to go and never return...............ends


Well Id like to reply to you and point out some inaccuracies in your post.

You say you have never had to use your yellow card/red card system, wrong, you issued myself and a poster called outsider both a yellow card when you started that system and the board was moderated in them days to a far better standard, our spat was nipped in the bud immediatly and ended.

Secondly my trashing of bulletin board threads was born out of frustration and retaliation to the NON moderation of the Bulletin/Board. I see you fail to mention that you did not give me any protection from the trashing of the Chart Thread from a gang of 3 posters, Chris Carson, Doodlebug4 , and aldwick. I used to spend many hours working into the small hours of the morning updating that thread using picks from a stock filter and all the verification work needed afterwards.

This trashing went on for two and a half months and Ian received several HELP e-mails from me but each time I was fobbed off and asked to use the filter button which I did, but as you know if you were out on the boards posters can by deception get around this by asking leading questions to other posters that involve the person with the filter button on. Ask Haystack, he as pointed this out in the past.

I was also subject to trolling from two of these posters Chris Carson and Doodlebug4, they followed me to every thread that I went to and made rude and nasty comments about me.

Now you say you use 5 Moderators????????????????? where on earth were they when I needed them?. A quick slap behind the ear would have nipped everything in the bud, but ohhh no they were no where to be seen. Do they really exist?.

"................watching, watching their antics, do you not think at least one of you moderators should have intervened, why else are they moderating a bulletin board?. Are they just there to twiddle there thumbs, or do you not have this manpower as I suggest?.

Why is the poster mentor .....aka Master RSI.........banned 3 times previously now again posting at will, and for days on end, why was doodlebug4 allowed to post with another handle until I used my other legitimate handle from a former employer (security reasons and cleared by Ian)pointed him out on his second day of posting. It was clear to a blind man that it was him. What were you board moderators doing?.

I also admit in hindsight when I look back at the thread, that I went well over the top when proving that doodlebug4 had lied misled and fradulently made his claims on the FLYB thread. I bring your attention to this part of the CONTENT STANDARDS which he clearly breached......................

Comply with applicable law in any country from which they are posted
and..........
Be likely to deceive any person;
Be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person;
And I also took exception to your post here............ on the bugs thread........

Rubbish Rubbish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent a good half day proving Doodlebug had lied through his teeth........more to the point WHERE were YOUR MODERATORS when these deceptive posts (that I had pointed out)were being constructed??????.

And as for your summing up ..........."individual egos get bigger than our boards" ends..... Totaly untrue Im one of the most caring and humble people you could ever wish to meet.

I conclude by saying that it think you and your admin team have miss managed this situation, I dont know wether that is because of lack of resources or wether its just rank poor management, Id like to think its the former having been a member here from more or less day one.

Ive enjoyed my time on money and made many freinds but have found recently standards have slipped and can only think it is indeed lack of resources. If you had communicated with posters on the board Im sure like myself I would have volunteered duties for free.

I wish you the best going forward but cant help but feel upset and bitter towards your actions too me.

for myself, i am bitterly disappointed with a great many aspects of the way the management has handled this whole affair, including the inaction of the moderators ..... with effective and efficient management all this could and should have been stopped in its infancy

GF is indeed a total arsehole at times and his conduct can be pretty reprehensible, and i have told him as much .... however, he was most certainly not alone (and yes, i probably got a bit over-excited for a while too)

it's a great shame that GF kept rising to the bait laid out specifically for him by DB and several other advfn refugees

I've been on the MoneyAM web site since it was first kicked off.

I asked, actually suggested just a day or so ago, that we have some moderators appointed on here.

I was truly gobsmacked when Bullshare posted up that the site actually does have some (5?) and has had since day 1 back in 2003.

IMHO, these so called moderators, if indeed they do exist, need their arses kicking for doing such a crap job.

IMHO, they have:

1. Let the whole Goldfinger/Doodlebug4/Chris Carson/Aldwick/Master RSI thing get completely out of hand and haven't intervened soo enough or in a proper manner. Indeed, do they ever? There is masses of abuse on here. It is almost the norm and where the hell the line has been drawn, to say what is and what is not acceptable is anyone's guess, included importantly, apparently the management's guess too!

2. The moderators have acted in such a non-existant and silent 'behind the scenes' manner, that no one even knows they exist. After 11 years or more on here I'm damn sure I for one didn't know about them.

3. I do think it is a great pity when a board contributor, of such high value as Goldfinger has been, gets so damn frustrated by other posters and the lack of good MoneyAM management or moderator support, that he decides to throw a complete wobbly and take matters into his own hands by trashing threads. But that is what happens and what you get with such crap moderation. Utterly crazy frustration!

4. Add to this the fact, that Management showing their face around the place is also a bit of a rarity, and you have a recipe for a bit of a disaster - and we've had one.

So 'Yes', I would like to see Goldfinger back posting on here and given a Yellow Card instead of a complete ban.

And I would like to see some ACTIVE and OPEN moderator posting on here too.

And then there are Martini and Gausie, Bullshare's mates.

Have I got them all? That's two techies, the boss and a couple of his mates. So no wonder we have had some problems, eh?
