THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

EU referendum: Cameron says only project he's interested in is 'Project Fact' as Boris Johnson calls it 'baloney'

The Prime Minister has denied the "in" campaign has launched "Project Fear" to fight a negative battle over the polls

Boris and Cameron at war over 'Project Fact'

Cameron says only project he's interested in is 'Project Fact', but Boris Johnson calls it 'baloney'

Asked about claims the "in" campaign had launched "Project Fear" to fight a negative battle over the polls, David Cameron denied the accusation and said he was only interested in 'Project Fact.'

He told an audience in Ipswich today: "Project Fact is about saying stay and you know what you get. Leave, and you're taking a gamble with people's lives".

He added: "This is not about raising concerns and worries which aren't there - they are real concerns and worries based on fact."

But Boris Johnson described project Fact as "baloney".

He told LBC: "There is an attempt going on to scare people into staying with the status quo, when I think the real risk is that we will simply remain in a system that is less and less suitable to our needs and its time for the UK to have the courage to strike a new series of views.

Asked if he believed the facts supported him, he replied: " I do."

British tourists could be left stranded abroad if voters choose to quit the EU, ministers warned today.

An official government report setting out the process of how Britain would leave the EU also predicted a decade of economic chaos if voters backed Brexit as the country would have to negotiate complex new trading relationships with Brussels.

Oh dear and the bogey man might come in the night if you don't eat your porridge.

To think that we actually pay people to produce such crap. Brussels wont last a decade in its present form if we quit.

you're right ..... it's total crap
what is worrying, is that someone actually allowed that to be broadcast

EU threatening us again , read the link above it looks like a lot of Europe has had enough of Merkel .

The migrant crisis continued to unravel after Hungary announced its own plans to build a huge border fence on the frontier with Romania which will effectively seal off northern Europe from the Balkans.

No-nonsense Prime Minister Viktor Orban ignored pleas from Brussels to drop his radical plans to reduce migration, insisting he was acting as a defender of Christian Europe.

He said: "We will teach Brussels, the human traffickers and the migrants that Hungary is sovereign country.

"We cannot solve the demographic problems of the undeniably dwindling and ageing European population with the Muslim world without losing our lifestyle, security and ourselves. Those coming here have no intention of adapting to our lifestyle."

Unbelievable ,Merkel has no plan B but says closing borders is not the answer .

''Those coming here have no intention of adapting to our lifestyle."

As we well know from those already settled here and continuing with Sharia Law, not the Law of the Land.

i applaud hungary, though its very right-wing gov't does cause considerable concern for other reasons

interesting to talk to my young polish taxi driver last night ..... here with his wife (well qualified and working) and young child for 4 years; his parents also work and have been here for 10 years
he despairs of the current polish gov't (too socialist and wrecking the country) and reckons uk should exit eu

===============

sharia law in uk
i find it appalling that this should be tolerated

though it has no legal force and can only adjudicate where both parties consent, can you imagine a young muslim girl having the strength to tell her husband and the rest of the family that she will refuse to consent?

i am very surprised that there is no uk law that can ban this

Nato not EU is keeping us safe

A SENIOR military figure has sunk David Cameron’s claims that belonging to the EU is essential to British security.
Rear Admiral Chris Parry, who previously commanded HMS Fearless, has said that it is “Nato (and Nato alone) [which] provides the collective guarantees that our island nation needs.”

He compared the successful “well planned” defeat of Saddam Hussein’s forces in the First Gulf War 25 years ago in a Nato run campaign, compared to the “feebly planned, strategically myopic” EU inspired intervention in Libya in 2011.

He also condemned the Prime Minister for “dragooning” a number of former senior officers into supporting his pro-EU campaign.

It is inconceivable that European countries would not co-operate with the UK
Rear Admiral Chris Parry
He said: “In the event of a Brexit it is inconceivable that European countries would not co-operate with the UK in dealing with security and other threats as they do today.” He added: “They need us, just as we need them.”

Chris Parry is right. Cameron thinks we are all idiots. Carry on as he is doing and he won't last long. His "fighting for Britain" was a charade. He talks of a "reformed europe". Poor claptrap. Only in his imagination.

Fred1new - 01 Mar 2016 11:54 - 68470 of 81564

For once, I agree with Cameron's opinion.
