Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

When we joined the Common Market Europe's GDP as a %age of global GDP was 38%, that has shrunk to 17%. For the UK to prosper it needs to start addressing the other much bigger 83% of global GDP.

Yes i don''t think the remainers can do maths.....
They now tell us we can't leave the EU because there
is a massive 500 million market and you can't get that anywhere else.
I've done some maths and mine come to...
The Commonwealth 1.5 BILLION...The rest of the world.....
5 BILLION!!!!...

As I understand it you can Max, but we will still have to abide to some of the rules that some people don't like.. the free movement of labour for instance but not a have say or vote as full members.

i shall vote "out, more in hope than expectation
however, brexiters would be worse than naive even to pretend that everything will be just dandy and simple should "out" carry the day

There are so many +s and -s to consider and we can only make a better judgement when we know the full facts from both sides of the fence..and then it's a case of are people voting for their own narrower self interest or for the greater good in the medium to long term.
I look forward to gathering and then considering those "Full facts" before voting day.

They are all going to move in next door to Vicky, Granny and JB.
Better put the kettle on and lock the wine cellars.

Stan,
"Full facts"
Unfortunately, the full facts are only just coming out about the Napoleonic Wars.
-=-=-=
Mind if the "R V" is out, I bet the price of property in London will crash.
--=-=-=
And with the changes in rules the "forced" repatriation of UK citizens from Europe may cause a little pressure on house prices and NHS services.

We cannot know the facts if we vote to LEAVE the EU, it will all be conjecture and guesstimates. if we vote to REMAIN there is more certainty ie, increased EU contributions, more regulation, more immigration, and more terrorists threats/atrocities.
To balance the 'more' above, we will have less say, no sovereignty, less control of our borders, less money for UK citizens, no democracy and a smaller GDP pot from which to survive.

710 - good chuckle fred
in all honesty, only "best guesses" about the future can be made by either camp
713 - agree with much of that and i certainly see a slow slide for uk being drawn ever closer to a federal europe with all its implications ...... not my idea of fun!

Ahh yes..Lets not forget what the Europhiles said
would happen if we didn't join the monetary union......
The UK financial system would collapse....No one would
invest in the UK...We wouldn't be able to do any commerce
business...Exports would collapse....etc..etc...
ALL lies......

stan 705 "still have to abide to some of the rules.....
"the free movement of Labour for instance but not a have

These people who spout these deceptions are either
slow on the uptake OR they're trying to deceive the voters...
To try and intimate that the USA/China/Brazil..etc..etc have
to except free movement of Labour or rules and regulations
is clearly wrong and deceptive.....
