I texted a couple of MU supporting mates last night, simply asking if they had seen the score - no reply so far :-))

Have to mention Socrates who has passed away...., who was a fantastic player for Brazil....have to say that along with Holland 1974, that Brazil side of 1982...those are probably the best 2 sides never to have won the world cup...England 1970 would have made a good third.....
Anyway...difficult group for England next year.....won't be easy by the look of it....

Result of the weekend.. I think you'll agree. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15901825.stm

What's so good about Burnley, or are you just anti West Ham? (we have a bit of a soft spot for Robert Green down here as he used to be Norwich City goalkeeper for quite a while!)

Stan - 05 Dec 2011 08:35 - 720 of 6918

"What's so good about Burnley".. Just about everything at the moment -):

"or are you just anti West Ham?" You paranoid or what?

"we have a bit of a soft spot for Robert Green down here as he used to be Norwich City goalkeeper for quite a while!)." Robert Green?.. is that the same RG, the former England "alleged Goalkeeper" ? -):

HARRYCAT - 05 Dec 2011 08:40 - 721 of 6918

LOL! Am I paranoid? Yes, of course I am!

"What's so good about Burnley".. Just about everything at the moment......I hope the medication starts working soon!!! ;o)

Yeah, poor old Greeny....never quite made it but a decent guy, nevertheless.

Stan - 05 Dec 2011 08:45 - 722 of 6918

Who do you follow over there then, Town, City or Utd ?

HARRYCAT - 05 Dec 2011 09:09 - 723 of 6918

Regret to say I am really a Spurs supporter, as born in London, but have slowly become a Delia follower.

Stan - 05 Dec 2011 10:39 - 724 of 6918

Spurs? Had some cracking games against Spurs over the years, talking about Delia Burnley have drawn Norwich in The FA Cup next rd.

HARRYCAT - 05 Dec 2011 10:45 - 725 of 6918

Yep, at Carrow Road. Brace yourself for a rough ride!

Stan - 05 Dec 2011 10:54 - 726 of 6918

On paper I agree (V.G. home record this season) but as we know a lot of these Premier clubs prioritise and put out weakened sides for some Cup matches.. and hopefully thats what Norwich will do in Jan to give us a chance -):

HARRYCAT - 05 Dec 2011 15:11 - 727 of 6918

Stan, this is what Sam Allardyce wrote to his fans (think he might be feeling a bit bitter!):
"Saturdays 2-1 loss to Burnley was a disappointing result for us after a fantastic performance. Unfortunately we haven't got the win we wanted and instead of taking the point as we always talk about, we have thrown it away.

It is not because we haven't played well, it is not that we haven't dominated, it is about the fact we have switched off on two occasions - the only two dangerous situations they had in the whole game.

We have hit the post a couple of times and balls are flashing in front of goal and dropping down and just not dropping to us. It was a shame after such a wonderful goal from Kevin Nolan. His quality was outstanding to get us on our way.

It is the first time we have lost a game of football from in front. If they had created lots of chances I could say they deserved the win but they have pinched one. That happens in a long old season, sometimes you don't get what you deserve."

Stan - 05 Dec 2011 15:37 - 728 of 6918

"That happens in a long old season, sometimes you don't get what you deserve." Here here, we were the better side against Leeds the other day and held the lead for 74 minutes.. then two goals from them in the last 14 minutes and we ended up with bugger all -):

Stan - 06 Dec 2011 12:13 - 729 of 6918

Any Preston Fans here? http://www.pnefc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10362~2538728,00.html

Dil - 07 Dec 2011 13:07 - 730 of 6918

Lol Stan , poor sods.

The two teams I follow have both "benefitted" from his experience .... Cardiff and Leeds and I think you'll find he is still blamed for the financial mess inherited from his time in charge.

Plymouth must be gutted he's going :-)

Chris Carson - 07 Dec 2011 21:39 - 731 of 6918

WHAT A SWISS!!!!!!! Gutted :O)

ptholden - 07 Dec 2011 22:03 - 732 of 6918

The way Utd are playing at the moment there is no way they can possibly be title contenders. In fact the emergence of Spurs plus the presence of Chelski and Arsenal puts qualification for next year's CL in doubt.

As for Everton, well, they'll do what they always do - not very much :-)
