cynic I'm not disagreeing with you outright for the need of foreign workers,
and i've nothing whatsoever against Polish builders per sae, but the fact is
it has brought the wages of British builders, Plumbers, etc down, of course
everybody wants to get the job done at a lower price, but would they be happy
if someone came in and did their job but at a cheaper rate?.

I have seen the quality of work from Polish builders and it is excellent and better in most cases better than the British. They turn up early and work late. A Polish worker will do the job quicker, better and cheaper. In general though, I think that immigration has brought down wages. It is inevitable that with a surplus of workers, wages will be low. Immigration has caused a shortage of housing, school places, hospital beds etc. It causes pressure on our infrastructure. If we face shortages of essential things and services there is a case that we have too many people here.

It is not just people from around the world that are economic migrants, it is mainly European migrants. They are also coming here because our economy is strong and are too generous with benefits.

It is meant to be derogatory of the British worker. It doesn't mean I want the Polish builders here, but they are just better.

GB - what an odd comment ..... i would actually be pretty surprised if some sort of accommodation was not reached over the coming 24 months or so ..... even if it is not, that would not mean the sudden disappearance of polish builders and their ilk, nor indeed prevent them being allowed into the country given the skill shortage in that and other industries

Of course they won't go. I doubt that any immigrants will leave and further I doubt they we will stop immigration. We will end up with a deal that allows free movement.

I agree with you to a point Hays but I don't believe the majority come because of benefits. They come to work. The pay here is much higher than in the East European countries despite the fact that many are in minimum pay jobs.
My main purpose for voting out was to escape the Eurotocracy and ECJ. The referendum wasn't intended to support the BNP. We can do very well outside of Europe but that doesn't make Europe unimportant as far as trade and manpower are concerned. If we continue to grow, we will need skilled people. Where they come from doesn't matter to me, provided they can do the job and are prepared to fit in.
One thing that is important now is to assure those people that are here that their status will not change and the same reassurances must be obtained for UK expats working within the EU.

My experience of the Poles maybe a wee bit biased, my son is engaged to a Pole and she has given me a Grandson. I work part time and the cleaners are all Polish, nicest people you could ever wish to meet. The remain side all called us racist because we deemed to be against uncontrolled...UNCONTROLLED immigration. Throw in democracy and what have you got LEAVE.

the only people that benefit are the employers who are milking the uk tax payers to make massive profits
