Bring Back Goldfinger and Doodlebug Petition (GDB)

Shortie - 03 Feb 2015 13:47

What's a forum without people posting, some friendly banter and opposing views. By MAMs decision to remove the above posters we now have less views and these forums have lost their humour and rich content. I say bring back GF and DB immediately.

Please post your support if you agree?

cynic - 04 Feb 2015 18:20 - 72 of 266

shortie - i shall be very very sorry to see you depart ..... i hated advfn when i visited there for 20 minutes a few years ago, as there was just interminable personal abuse flying around

chris - your allegiance as DB's puppy has been abundantly obvious for quite a while, so your posts here were no surprise at all

==========

for myself, i am bitterly disappointed with a great many aspects of the way the management has handled this whole affair, including the inaction of the moderators ..... with effective and efficient management all this could and should have been stopped in its infancy

GF is indeed a total arsehole at times and his conduct can be pretty reprehensible, and i have told him as much .... however, he was most certainly not alone (and yes, i probably got a bit over-excited for a while too)

it's a great shame that GF kept rising to the bait laid out specifically for him by DB and several other advfn refugees

Fred1new - 04 Feb 2015 18:21 - 73 of 266

It's my plug.

No it isn't.

It's my bath then.

Al-right then.

Dad.

What?

OOOOOH!

Why not put the plug back in and then we can all have bath and think about it!

Fred1new - 04 Feb 2015 18:23 - 74 of 266

Manuel.

You shouldn't have to ADVFN who you were!

cynic - 04 Feb 2015 18:26 - 75 of 266

i was there about 4 years ago fred, nd the abuse was not aimed at me but whoever was around on that site at the time

dreamcatcher - 04 Feb 2015 18:28 - 76 of 266

All the best Shortie. :-((

Chris Carson - 04 Feb 2015 18:31 - 77 of 266

cynic - And your reliance on GF as your personal stock picker has been just as obvious. Guess you will have to find another guru, good luck :0)

MaxK - 04 Feb 2015 18:38 - 78 of 266

Cant you all kiss and make up?

DB and GF in purdah, and now shortie's thrown his dummy out of the pram as well.

How about an independent adjudicator who will set things to right?

Hilary in drag

cynic - 04 Feb 2015 18:58 - 79 of 266

chris - for the most part i play with the indices as does shortie ... i am also well aware that you have continued to mispresent what i have posted here on advfn ... no doubt you got a nice pat on the head and perhaps a biscuit

Chris Carson - 04 Feb 2015 19:03 - 80 of 266

cynic - Think what you like old bean. But assuredly you have that wrong. Chin Chin!!

ExecLine - 04 Feb 2015 19:11 - 81 of 266

I've been on the MoneyAM web site since it was first kicked off.

I asked, actually suggested just a day or so ago, that we have some moderators appointed on here.

I was truly gobsmacked when Bullshare posted up that the site actually does have some (5?) and has had since day 1 back in 2003.

IMHO, these so called moderators, if indeed they do exist, need their arses kicking for doing such a crap job.

IMHO, they have:

1. Let the whole Goldfinger/Doodlebug4/Chris Carson/Aldwick/Master RSI thing get completely out of hand and haven't intervened soo enough or in a proper manner. Indeed, do they ever? There is masses of abuse on here. It is almost the norm and where the hell the line has been drawn, to say what is and what is not acceptable is anyone's guess, included importantly, apparently the management's guess too!

2. The moderators have acted in such a non-existant and silent 'behind the scenes' manner, that no one even knows they exist. After 11 years or more on here I'm damn sure I for one didn't know about them.

3. I do think it is a great pity when a board contributor, of such high value as Goldfinger has been, gets so damn frustrated by other posters and the lack of good MoneyAM management or moderator support, that he decides to throw a complete wobbly and take matters into his own hands by trashing threads. But that is what happens and what you get with such crap moderation. Utterly crazy frustration!

4. Add to this the fact, that Management showing their face around the place is also a bit of a rarity, and you have a recipe for a bit of a disaster - and we've had one.

So 'Yes', I would like to see Goldfinger back posting on here and given a Yellow Card instead of a complete ban.

And I would like to see some ACTIVE and OPEN moderator posting on here too.

I think we have:

Ian
George
Bullshare

So that's three. Two of them are 'techies'. One is an extremely busy guy, indeed. If there are five moderators who are the other two?

Hmmm? I guess one died a while ago. I do forget his name and apologise for it and I know him to have been a founder member (but I don't forget his shotgun skills). I'm sure some of you will know who I mean?

And then there are Martini and Gausie, Bullshare's mates.

Have I got them all? That's two techies, the boss and a couple of his mates. So no wonder we have had some problems, eh?

cynic - 04 Feb 2015 19:12 - 82 of 266

by the way, moderators get paid, unlike school governors

cynic - 04 Feb 2015 19:13 - 83 of 266

chris - i have the transcripts from advfn and of course of what i actually wrote here ... others might call you a liar, but i wouldn't dream of casting such aspersions

Chris Carson - 04 Feb 2015 19:28 - 84 of 266

cynic - I'm sorry not going to play whatever game you and the fruit loop have now come up with. Many thanks for the e-mail by the way, you really are desperate. :0)

cynic - 04 Feb 2015 19:30 - 85 of 266

unlike GF, i do not get goaded let alone easily riled xxx

Chris Carson - 04 Feb 2015 19:35 - 86 of 266

Ditto xxx

Bullshare - 05 Feb 2015 11:06 - 87 of 266

Execline; We indeed have moderators (5 unpaid BB users plus 4 staff) who do a fantastic job. You only see 10% of the issues we have as the moderators remove postings and posters before most have the chance to see it. In fact the moderators acted on Sunday and removed some postings on the very subject you are all debating.

I think you are being totally unfair with comments you make about them, but they and us (management) are pretty thick skinned despite the raft of abusive emails and content we receive continually.

You must appreciate in all cases where we have had to ban people there is lot more going on behind the scenes by email and in some case lawyers, yes we have even had death threats in the distant past.

You have been around the bulletin boards long enough to know that people come and go, always disappointing to see some posters go but that's life.

Mike

jimmy b - 05 Feb 2015 11:11 - 88 of 266

Death threats Bullshare ?? that's a bit drastic !!!!

Fred1new - 05 Feb 2015 11:18 - 89 of 266

Exec.

I was aware moderators and interventions.

Agree with some of P 81 mainly;

So 'Yes', I would like to see Goldfinger back posting on here and given a Yellow Card instead of a complete ban.

The problem which MM may be wary of is when a poster is suggesting the "threat" of taking legal advice and the costs surrounding the unlikely possibility of "actions" or the
pain in the arse of preparing for such.

==-==-=-=

To me the skirmishes between DB4 and GF remind me of my kids (all girls) when they were about 4 - 7 complaining that when they were passing on the stairs from one floor to the the other that one blew on the other.

-=-=-=-=-

I think it would be possible for the participants to "grow" up, recognise that neither party is physically bruised or bleeding, and both parties have food to eat and not losing money.

Apologise to one another and MM and be reinstated on condition to try to stay out of other's hair, or otherwise be sent to their own rooms.

====-=-=-=

Both contributed to this thread and often "enlivened it".

(I wish I could get my hands on a moderator to help me deal with my wife. 8-))

Bullshare - 05 Feb 2015 11:21 - 90 of 266

Jimmy B , Tell me about it, but the police arrested the individual within 3 hours and was sectioned.

BB's are a weird world and some people take things far to seriously. It would be lovely if we could all get on in a civilised way.

Fred1new - 05 Feb 2015 11:34 - 91 of 266

Bullshare,

I was physically threatened by E-mails via MM.

I was a little bit fitter than I am now and thought at the time that the E-mailer may have been in for an interesting experience.
