THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Owen Smith the new challenger to Corbyn went to the same school as me. My town has already produced one Prime Minister of Australia but can't see this chap ending up in No 10.

Maybe you should run Dil ,the way things are at the moment you'd stand a cracking chance .

Owen Smith will pull out and leave the field open to the Eagle.

She yearns to be the first 'dyke' leader of the Labour party.

Meanwhile.....

Johnson, Davis and Fox to get joint use of Chevening, the foreign secretary's mansion. Or, to put it another way, Boris is forced to have to share his Foreign Minister's 'grace and favour' residence with two other Brexit ministers, all because of the large amount of entertaining and hosting, that's to be expected.

Theresa May to visit Berlin to see Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor and then Paris to see Francois Hollande, the French President, this coming week.

French Foreign Minister says Brexit talks should start as soon as possible.

Theresa May makes her first appearance in the Commons today as prime minister and she will be opening the debate on renewing Trident. Nothing strange about that, but the interesting thing is going to be the Scottish and Labour reactions on what is being discussed. Scotland's SDP are against and Labour are a bit mixed (up?) about it.

Johnson keeps reinforcing the message, that despite Brexit, the UK will not be giving up its 'leading role' in Europe.

with all the jobs that trident supports in scotland, i'm surprised that snp is anti

Good luck to her - give them a vote

Haystack - 18 Jul 2016 15:12 - 72723 of 81564

I know we gave votes to women, but why did we give votes to the porridge eaters.

VICTIM - 18 Jul 2016 15:25 - 72724 of 81564

I eat porridge it's good for you . I like my oats .

cynic - 18 Jul 2016 15:31 - 72725 of 81564

you must be a horse

Haystack - 18 Jul 2016 15:33 - 72726 of 81564

From Johnson's Dictionary

Oats: A grain, which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland appears to support the people.

VICTIM - 18 Jul 2016 15:39 - 72727 of 81564

Nay .

Haystack - 18 Jul 2016 15:40 - 72728 of 81564

It would be better to refer to Scotland as The County of Scotland.

jimmy b - 18 Jul 2016 22:40 - 72730 of 81564

That sounds good , the County of Scotland .

05 to 21 August 2016

That's 17 days 13 hrs and about 15 mins to the Rio Olympics. And we've yet to hear that Russia will not be allowed to compete.

Check out the following to find out about the severity of their athletic doping scandal:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/olympics/2016/07/18/russia-committed-the-ultimate-crime-and-now-they-must-face-the-u/

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/olympics/2016/07/18/russia-facing-rio-2016-olympics-exile-over-vast-drugs-scandal/

Just imagine what the problems are going to be like with 'last minute news' like this. Flights, rooms, transportation, blank places on the track and in the programmes, even printing the programmes, etc. etc.

Hmmm?

cynic - 19 Jul 2016 11:17 - 72735 of 81564

it used to be the east germans, but then little difference
