World cup 2010, What chances for the Home sides and Ireland !. (2010)

required field - 12 Oct 2008 18:43

Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

required field - 28 Feb 2010 17:49 - 728 of 1154

That's 6 months off.....always the great risk for talented yougsters......Bryan Robson was injured about 30 times during his career !.....once again Rooney proves to be unstoppable....as long as England get to at least the world cup quarter finals (I hope they go further) the Ballon d'or should be his.....I hope Michael Owen goes with the England squad.....he must make the last 20 or so players !.

Quoting Bellamy of all people !!!

You may as well read the tabloids - it would at least be a step in the right direction.

Dil - 01 Mar 2010 09:27 - 730 of 1154

Way Terry is playing he wouldn't even get in the Wales team.

Loads of international games today.....have placed several bets, one on England to win tonight but the odds for, are not that good...Egypt might not be in the world cup but they have just won the african nations cup...

Made a little tonight...came good on England and Holland, but lost on Italy and Greece......but a profit overall....roll on saturday.

Man U owned by americans, managed by the scottish, played for by foreigners and watched by the cockneys........

Do not estimate the likes of (Shrek) AKA Rooney he was brought up in an area where the are the world leaders in trickery, thieving, ducking & diving, etc etc

England won but they were terrible in the first half...if that had been against a top class side they would have been 3 goals down....no cohesion between goalkeeper-defenders-midfield.

required field - 11 Mar 2010 12:47 - 735 of 1154

Well ManU won but the defense is not that good to me except for Van den Sar who is superb.....better teams will score against them...Milan who were pretty poor missed as many chances as the reds scored.....

required field - 15 Mar 2010 20:02 - 736 of 1154

Beckham out along with Owen and Cole.....no more please....

required field - 16 Mar 2010 21:53 - 737 of 1154

Lost a bit on the Blues this evening but not too much as I hedged my bets by going for Inter half way through which prevented a disaster...but Chelsea out !, dear oh dearie me.....the London clubs seem to have no luck in the knock out stages of the European Champions League !.

Joe Say - 17 Mar 2010 07:28 - 738 of 1154

We didnt deserve it, but I wouldn't rule Arsenal out just yet.

required field - 17 Mar 2010 09:01 - 739 of 1154

A lot depends on the draw...quarter and semis drawn together....

required field - 25 Mar 2010 09:14 - 740 of 1154

ManU-Barca in the euro final and Chelsea-Spurs having a domestic ?...

Joe Say - 28 Mar 2010 09:00 - 741 of 1154

Well whoever you support next weeks Man U v Chelsea match should be interesting.

required field - 28 Mar 2010 09:47 - 742 of 1154

3 points at stake and both teams in excellent form....shame that the blues were not on top of their game against Inter.

Dil - 28 Mar 2010 17:04 - 743 of 1154

Why ?

Sooner teams like Chelsea and Man City with their "we can buy anything" owners get bored then the rest of us can once again look foward to seeing a decent race for the title / cup / E cup.

Hope anyone but Chelsea win the league and anyone but Man City come fourth.

Chris Carson - 28 Mar 2010 17:12 - 744 of 1154

Chelsea being out of European Cup may just give them the impetus (certainly possessed it yesterday against Villa) to go on and win the Premiership, cause we will never hear the end of it if the Mancs go on to win it.

Personally, I know this is being negative but would prefer United to be out of European Cup also, Rooney is paramount to Englands chances of progress fingers crossed to the final. Ferguson quite rightly will allow him to burn himself out in Uniteds cause to the end in both comps, ok he rested him yesterday against Hull but you can bet your life it won't happen again before end of season, unless United get an unassailable lead which isn't going to happen.

Chris Carson - 28 Mar 2010 17:21 - 745 of 1154

Dil - Spot on! Everton have taken six points of City this season, if you weigh up the money City have spent and the money Moye's has spent scary! The expression on Lescott's face on Tuesday night was priceless, (greedy bastard).

Joe Say - 29 Mar 2010 18:22 - 746 of 1154

Bet you watch it though Dil

Dil - 29 Mar 2010 18:56 - 747 of 1154

MOTD if I'm in Joe or up on a Sunday but have watched very few live matches on TV.
