How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Interested to see Saints appoint Burley as manager. Should be interesting. I liked this part of the press release: -

Southampton began their statement concerning Burley's appointment by saying they "are pleased to announce the new management arrangements following Harry Redknapp's return to his spiritual home".

He's got his work cut out if we want to get something out of this season, but I'm pleased. I feel it is a positive step, if we can keep him for longer than our usual 18 months.

Hi all

how on earth are Arsenal 1.7 shots away from home after 35 mins ? Want to lay them but against my principles!!!

Off to a flier on the horses and mainly just having a punt from now on today

Hope you all had a good day yesterday, im trying to make hay as the inlaws are descending about 3pm

Cloudbase - 26 Dec 2005 14:00 - 7295 of 10502

Hi everyone. Hope your all in the festive mood.
Another question for Betangle basic users.
I backed Feathard Lady in the 1.40 at Sandown in running at 3.25, it showed at
bottom of page "2.0 Back bet on Feathard Lady at 3.25 Entirely unmatched "
on the card it showed 4.5 win Feathard Lady, it went on to win but they deducted 2 stake and no credit for the win, what have i done wrong?
edit..... it has now been corrected adding the win amount, lol, thaught i'd
made another blunder.

Cloudbase

you have done nothing wrong, the win will be credited to your account it is just slow today due to the amount of sport on

ps didnt it win well - had a nice bet on it too :-)
quite fancy the Darkness in the 2.50 and have those two and KK in a treble for the day

Fundamentalist - 26 Dec 2005 14:05 - 7297 of 10502

thatd be why arsenal were so short :-)

Cloudbase - 26 Dec 2005 14:12 - 7298 of 10502

Fundy, thanks, its been credited now. Yes it did win well, according to the wife
it likes to come from the back, was a punt on my part when it went out
Trying to get some bets under my belt on the learning curve.

Fundamentalist - 26 Dec 2005 14:16 - 7299 of 10502

Cloudbase

i traded a profit onto the line, backed it and nacked it for the champion hurdle at cheltenham - have laid off my stake at cheltenham and happy with the free bet :-)
