World cup 2010, What chances for the Home sides and Ireland !. (2010)

required field - 12 Oct 2008 18:43

Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Chris Carson - 07 Apr 2010 21:55 - 755 of 1154

Delighted!!! Man Utd got exactly what they desrved. Started with 10 men and finished with 10 men. Can you imagine the furore and whingeing complaints by that two faced bastard Ferguson if Capello had played Rooney tonight in an England match! Rooney has the brains of a seven year old but Ferguson should have known better, who knows what damage has been caused to that ankle. Ok the turning point came in the game when the young lad through naivety got sent off. Rooney has carried that team this season, Ferguson is a disgrace to gamble his recovery by playing him tonight.

How ironic would it be if Liverpool were to make it to the Europa semis ?...the other big 3 being knocked out !...

Chris Carson - 08 Apr 2010 00:18 - 757 of 1154

There you go, it's crazy! For many years the fans (so called) of the top four clubs who legitamely qualify for that reason to play in the European Cup have labelled what is now called the Europa Cup as the 'mickey mouse cup'. Why should they be allowed on being knocked out of the European Cup to not only get a second bite of the cherry, but to play in a competition they didn't qualify for and steal the glory from the teams that did? Admittedly I'm biased as far as Liverpool are concerned Kopite Gobshites :o)

Chris Carson - 08 Apr 2010 00:32 - 758 of 1154

Had to laugh listening to Ferguson's post match interview on Sky, when he was commenting on the Bayern team surrounding the referee asking for Rafael to be sent off. "This is what the Germans do". His team have been doing that every week in the premiership for years.

Hodgson CV is impressivestarting his managerial career in the mid seventies at the Swedish Div 1 side Halmstadshe spent five years winning the league championship in 1976 and 1979.In 1985 he took over at Malmo where he led them to five consecutive league championshipsMalmo offered Hodgson a lifetime contractwhich he declinedand he became the Swiss national coachtaking them to the 1994 World Cup finals qualifying in a group which included Italy and Portugalnot bad from a team that wouldnt have been able to beat Dagenham & Redbridge prior to his arrivalhe then took the Swiss side to Euro '96...At one point Switzerland were ranked third in the world by FIFA World Rankingshe moved on to Inter Milan where they had their worst ever sideand built a good side from 1995 to 1997...Blackburn Rovers lured him.. after Ray Harford ruined a good footballing sidecoupled with finishing in 13th placeHodgson first season resulted in a 6th place finishbut he spent 20m in the summer of 1998 to strengthen the Rovers squadbut internal unrest into the 7.5m purchase of Kevin Davies who was rated a flop resulted in him being forced outI think we all know who was proved right? Moving onto his current side Fulhams success is no surprise to mehe was a magician keeping Fulham up.... if you go back to my posts on here when he first joined the Clubyou will see they are in line with his achievementsadd to that he is a complete Gentlemantakes praise with an uncomfortable smileand is a gracious loser RF it is no surprise to me...as to whatever heights he achieves.

Chris Carson - 12 Apr 2010 00:59 - 767 of 1154

Fabulous result by Pompey, this is why the FA Cup is so special, we invented the game and it doesn't dissapoint, despite the Alex Fergusons of this world, money cannot by joy! Harry got what you deserved F.... All (greedy cockney bastard). Good Luck in the final sic you are probably goin to need it! :o))))

required field - 12 Apr 2010 08:00 - 768 of 1154

Chelsea will win.

tabasco - 12 Apr 2010 08:32 - 769 of 1154

Congratulations to Pompeyand Avram Grant a game that showed immense passion by Portsmouth but lacked quality Spurs midfield lost the plot and were all over the placeno shape at all David James whos natural confidence inspired his team into believing success was more than possibleand he played the game with a smile on his faceas a Hammers supporter I have to say Robert Green looks to be Englands future No 1 for a long time...but David James would be my World Cup choicenot only as a playerbut also as captain[O/T I see Terrys Father is keeping up tradition of the family] he just looks rock solidand in a struggling team....... for a 40 year oldpretty impressive!
Chrisstupid comment about RedknappHarrys team on the day got what it deservedbut he is not the greedy cockney bastard you so graciously described him asI suspect you know little about Harry? Football management is a cut-throat businessmanagers that do well... get bigger clubsmanagers that dont make an initial impactnearly always get the chopthere is absolutely zero loyalty by either club or manager David Moyes is presumably a greedy Scottish twat as he left Preston North Endand what would you call him if Man Utd. came inwhen Ferguson retireshave a think guv?

Chris Carson - 12 Apr 2010 15:04 - 770 of 1154

Tabasco - Bollocks! West Ham, Pompey, Spurs are all Premiership clubs, he was successful at all of them! If money was not the incentive for leaving then what was it? Remind me what division PNE are in again? Obviously I wouldn't be happy if Moyes leaves Everton, but I would applaud his ambition.............. eventualy :o))

tabasco - 12 Apr 2010 15:25 - 771 of 1154

Chrisdouble bollocks backHarry was sacked from West Hamand Portsmouth are a lot smaller club than Spursyour naivety in football at boardroom levelis a little startling

Hull boss Phil Brown has been sacked as the Tigers fight to stay in the Barclays Premier League.

Statement from Hull FC chairman Adam Pearson:-

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Phil for the major success achieved during a period of four seasons in charge at the club and wish him every success for the future.

But if he does not find another cluband drifts out of Footballhe can carry on gardeningas we dont give a fcuk!

tabasco - 12 Apr 2010 15:28 - 772 of 1154
