Having just come back from Devon i have bought a case of mile tea to the Cafe, it's all they drink! with their cream scones.

daves dazzlers - 15 Jun 2004 13:25 - 7610 of 23498

is it teas, scones this week,,ascot as well.

Golddog - 15 Jun 2004 13:32 - 7611 of 23498

If you look out the Cafe window you have a great view of Ascot race course. There is a long oak table laden with rich food behind you and drinks served all day. Tea and scones are plentiful and am glad to see everyone dressed to the nine. Even poochy is in top hat and wagging tail. If you go out on the balcony please ask the Queen to smile a bit.

Fundamentalist - 15 Jun 2004 13:38 - 7612 of 23498

What a splendid setting GD - your hospitality is second to none. I assume im alright to help myself to a glass of Pimms and mint from the fridge. As for feeling lucky - of course but that could all soon change!!!

hilary - 15 Jun 2004 13:42 - 7613 of 23498

Whereabouts in Devon did you go to, Poochy? I used to live just outside Exeter in a place called Morchard Bishop which was famous for having the longest continuous thatch in Britain. Used to have mice running around in the loft because of it.

daves dazzlers - 15 Jun 2004 13:45 - 7614 of 23498

i see little willie at ascot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,carson that is,,its the way i tell em.

Golddog - 15 Jun 2004 13:48 - 7615 of 23498

Hilary, I was not that way. I was staying at my friends holiday home in Instow. although I nearly ended up in Exeter after losing my way cycling.

Glass of pimms sounds good Fundy. Make that two.

Golddog - 15 Jun 2004 14:12 - 7616 of 23498

I'm just off to the broom cupboard with suzi perry.

hilary - 15 Jun 2004 14:15 - 7617 of 23498

Don't know Instow I'm afraid, Poochy. Is that North Devon? I've still got a few friends in and around Exeter so I should really make the effort to see them. Btw, be gentle with Suzi.
