THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

what a load of poppycock!
GO is no longer front bench and of course he can have outside biz interests as can and do (probably) the majority of MPs .... as long as these interests are declared, and clearly these are, then what's you problem?

Fred1new - 17 Mar 2017 16:24 - 76246 of 81564

He is not doing his job as an MP.

I think a job as an MP should be a full-time job.

cynic - 17 Mar 2017 16:29 - 76247 of 81564

you may not like the idea, but few can afford to be career politicians, especially as it is such a precarious occupation and the salary does not give much scope for stashing anything away for a rainy day

do you think you could get a mortgage if your only declared income is your MPs salary?
bet you couldn't, not least because you are self-employed, but also your job could easily have a very limited life

re - Osborne more than 1 job

is not a question of a job or two, but editing a newspaper can influence readers

so one or the other is my take, greedy sod could not do the job properly why is he trying to have 3 now

JOKE of the DAY

Maybe after all needs a bob or two to darken the receding hair

cynic - 17 Mar 2017 16:42 - 76249 of 81564

is editing rather than having a regular column any more influencing?

MaxK - 17 Mar 2017 18:37 - 76250 of 81564

There are all sorts of conflicts, even if he could find the time.

Guido has the skinny..

VICTIM - 18 Mar 2017 07:31 - 76252 of 81564

Isn't it about time this Merkel learnt to speak English , she's in America and using interpreters and speaking German . Did she say once if you want trade with Germany you'd better learn German or something . Does it show her feeling of superiority above others around her , she never even makes any effort at it . Poor show as she's in America .

iturama - 18 Mar 2017 08:51 - 76253 of 81564

Remember Vic that she came from Eastern Germany where Russian was the taught language, apart from German. She probably knows some English but not enough for a press conference, particularly when the gutter press, which just about covers all, is looking for the slightest slip-up. I would give her a break on that one. She bats for Germany, just as Maggie batted for Britain. Her big mistake was her unilateral decision to accept hundreds of thousands of migrants without any vetting.

Brexit more important than keeping the UK together, public say in poll for the Telegraph

cynic - 19 Mar 2017 09:09 - 76255 of 81564

have something else to talk about ..... the following actually came from an article in today's Guardian .......

A hard-left plot by supporters of Jeremy Corbyn to seize permanent control of the Labour party and consolidate their power by formally joining forces with the super-union Unite can be revealed by the Observer.

Fred1new - 19 Mar 2017 11:13 - 76256 of 81564

Is that the same story as:

“A hard-right plot by supporters of Theresa May trying to seize permanent control of the Tory party and consolidate their power by formally joining forces with the powerful elitist in the Cayman Isles, the London Evening Standard and using corrupting tory election fraudsters”?

Fred1new - 19 Mar 2017 11:24 - 76257 of 81564

Of course, that would be with the added goals of turning the UK into a banana republic with tax evasion, non-payment of taxes and cracking down of health and social services and turning its back on the rest of the world.

Welcome to the new world.

Fred1new - 19 Mar 2017 11:24 - 76258 of 81564

.

cynic - 19 Mar 2017 16:24 - 76259 of 81564

obviously not fred .... mine has genuine attribution and i suggest you read the article to find out how this story originated

Fred1new - 19 Mar 2017 21:26 - 76260 of 81564

The article you refer to is overheated flatus.

Have a read of Andrew Lansley's article and the Employment Article.

PS.

Reflect on the last 6 years of tory mismanagement of the economy, NHS and Welfare, Education, Police Infrastructure and "foreign" affairs.

Even the Scots and Irish want to escape from the tory clutches.

Osborne, Cameron and Mother Theresa will be responsible for the breakup of the UK and the demise of a "reasonable" society.

They are responsible for the present and ongoing fragmentation and increasing inequalities and discontent within the UK society.

mentor - 19 Mar 2017 22:18 - 76261 of 81564

re - Osborne

Needs a good kick on the backside, enough playing about with extra jobs and M. P. job

Laurenrose - 20 Mar 2017 08:11 - 76262 of 81564
