Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

first of all slander would have to be proved or at least provable, though you may mean libel (written word) rather than slander (spoken)
but to answer your question, i guess it comes under the same rules/laws as does libel on social media and as such the perpetrator (and any who also disseminate same) would and could be legally unmasked
btw, i'm assuredly not a lawyer!

thanks cynic , in my view a person must be able to clear is name and sue the person so . how can a whistleblower in name only be secret if you see my point
the person who is slanderer or libeled must be allow to clear is name or any one can slander any one

true, but it's a bit chicken and egg
if the story is patently libelous (slanderous) then assuredly so
there is a similar analogy with rape and paedophilia claims
the accused is named very early on, and even if proved innocent, the accuser often remains anonymous and/or certainly gets nothing like the horrendously damaging media coverage that was ladled out to the accused

in litigation that is certainly true as the outcome of that can almost never be certain
however, there are assuredly lawyers who will take on cases on "no win no fee" but they'll probably want to see a at least 75% chance of success
as far as i know, it is similar or even worse everywhere in the world

The "publishers" of "whistleblowers," "information" can be sued.
Their defence would have to disclose their source to validate "evidence".

Sturgeon having her say about the latest GDP figures which were a fraction below that expected. She failed to mention, nor was she asked, that Scotland's GDP growth was a third of the UK. Also Vince Cable has risen from the dead ( or is that just a talking head?). Now he is our mate Vince. What happened to the Sir? Best forgotten perhaps.

Re: Accessing Lloyds TSB online.
Not so. Apparently there are lots of others also having problems:

I wonder what the hell is wrong?
The problem is quite a big one but not everyone is affected:

GENERAL ELECTION PREDICTION
not surprisingly, the alleged conservative lead of 23% proved shortlived, and is now down a more realistic 10%
patently that swing will not be reflected across the country, so does anyone have a ny idea (hays is the most likely) as to what sort of majority the conservatives might reasonably expect
my guess is that it will end up as at least 30 and 40/50 would not be fanciful
