Nah, sorry Stan, expected a bit more than a round! Seriously though, I think you are the first to have held the leader position for so long, and a shame to be pipped at the very end. Be sure that we'll all be watching like a hawk to see your prediction for the twelth month.

New I was tempting fate when I went looking for the nearest Oddbins on Thursday night.

Haven't won once in I suppose 4 years so wouldn't recommend watching what I pick 55 -):

Ed: Bit of interest on Monday's Working Lunch boys, "On Monday Simon finds out how Adnams brewery in Suffolk is working to make its equipment more energy-efficient."

Ladies and Gentleman can I suggest the following:

The Barton Arms: http://www.oakhamales.com/BAthaifood.asp?m_nid=3649
5 minute bus (33) ride from Birmingham centre.

Meet there at 1pm on Wednesday 12th. December.

..All in favour say I, all those against nay and give an alternative please?

Fred1new - 03 Dec 2007 11:39 - 773 of 1427

Happy, Probably be able to make it.

survived87 - 05 Dec 2007 04:46 - 774 of 1427

Good Morming All....... Apologies but would have to give Wednesday 12th a miss..... E-mail you later....

Stan - 05 Dec 2007 16:13 - 775 of 1427

Received email Chris thanks, never mind understand the priorities.

No news from Ian or decision from Corgie so think it might be a good idea to postpone the meal until middle of January, will also give Fred some more time for recovery.

What do you say gang?

Fred1new - 07 Dec 2007 09:14 - 776 of 1427

It is OK by me. Off to London on the 20/12, but as things are creeping up all round until Xmas, probably better to have the next meeting mid Jan,

55011 - 07 Dec 2007 10:16 - 777 of 1427

As per Stan's original post. Next Wednesday is OK with me. So it looks as though a triumvirate (or a troika, if you prefer) at least is attainable.

Hope the good doctor is aware that if he is going to be driving in London, then the "congestion" charging zone has been extended. If he isn't driving, then he will find the beer cost will swallow up all his savings on not buying petrol..........

Chieftain tank?

Chieftain tank?

Stan - 07 Dec 2007 12:01 - 781 of 1427

The Latest:

Chris definetly. can't make it.
Fred not sure yet.
No decision from Corgie.
Ian OK.
Stan OK.

So that looks like only 40 percent definetly on, and if one of those breaks a leg...

So Sadly I think we should put it off to January.

55011 - 07 Dec 2007 22:08 - 782 of 1427

I'll let the locals decide, Stan.

Fred1new - 08 Dec 2007 09:56 - 783 of 1427

I think it is probably better to wait until second week in January. Life is getting a little congested at the moment.

Suggest meeting Wed 11th January 2008 at a pub of your choice.

I wish all a season's greetings and a happy, peaceful and prosperous NEW YEAR.

Stan - 09 Dec 2007 11:44 - 784 of 1427

Final Recap.

Dec. Meal Cancelled.

New Date.

January 9th (Wednesday) Meet 1pm at The Barton Arms: http://www.oakhamales.com/BAthaifood.asp?m_nid=3649
5 minute bus (33) ride from Birmingham centre.

Fred, am I right in assuming that you got the date wrong in your post above, as the 11th Jan. is on a Friday?

Fred1new - 09 Dec 2007 16:57 - 785 of 1427

Apologies You are correct Jan 8th 2008

Stan - 12 Dec 2007 11:29 - 786 of 1427

Actually Fred I was wrong as well...it's the "9th"-):

I have now corrected that in post 784 above. So just to restate:

January 9th (Wednesday) Meet 1pm at The Barton Arms: http://www.oakhamales.com/BAthaifood.asp?m_nid=3649
5 minute bus (33) ride from Birmingham centre.

Fred1new - 12 Dec 2007 11:44 - 787 of 1427

Stan, which year are we talking about?

I think Xmas has started earlier than usual for both of us.

Stan - 12 Dec 2007 14:25 - 788 of 1427
