How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Afternoon All,

Anyone watching the ManU game?

Burton are the superior side against a much weakened ManU team.

Man U just had their 1st decent chance on goal after 35mins

ive got in on in the background, United have been poor so far. Be interesting to see how long Fergie waits to make any changes - hes got Rooney and Ronaldo on the bench - would be tempted at 1.5 at HT if these 2 came on

Hi Steve

ManU have been dreadful so far and I've already scalped a few ticks. Likewise will be waiting for a decent price to get in later

bak

certainly wont be getting involved on man u unless he uses the bench

Bak

assuming playing a first team, spurs look a good price, though they are prone to struggle in this sort of game

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:04 - 7708 of 10502

no changes at half time

Steve

Already looked up Spurs price and agree that the price looks ok but as its on TV later I'll see the line up and watch 1st 5-10mins before deciding what to do.

Just greened up on ManU game. Only a small green and will probably save my trading for the Spurs game instead.

have to say im more tempted to lay man u than back them having watched the first 10 mins of second half, certainly no value backing at 1.47

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:14 - 7711 of 10502

Rooney and Ronaldo coming on

bakko - 08 Jan 2006 17:18 - 7712 of 10502

Can't see these 2 can even inspire 9 very poor performers!

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:18 - 7713 of 10502

no but worth 7 ticks :-)

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:19 - 7714 of 10502

went 11 ticks in total - sheer madness but preciatble lol

bakko - 08 Jan 2006 17:19 - 7715 of 10502

Amazing how these 2 have shortened ManU odds by 10 ticks!

bakko - 08 Jan 2006 17:20 - 7716 of 10502

Steve

You've read my mind re odds shortening!

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:22 - 7717 of 10502

Over 4m matched on man utd so far incl 2.5m at 1.15 or shorter - gonna be some people starting to sweat lol

bakko - 08 Jan 2006 17:22 - 7718 of 10502

That was a pathetic miss by Saha

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:23 - 7719 of 10502

Rooney and Ronaldo have made an impact though

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:24 - 7720 of 10502

Cant believe could have backed at 1.5 and had a free bet in the second half for 15-20 mins

Fundamentalist - 08 Jan 2006 17:28 - 7721 of 10502

Man U price just refusing to drift - when it comes its gonna be swift

bakko - 08 Jan 2006 17:29 - 7722 of 10502

Starting it's drift now
