Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

dealing with dementia and similar old age problems is certainly a very serious issue that needs to be tackled, but that was real head in hands stuff
on the brighter side, a seriously hard brexit, if it ever came to that in reality, would have had very serious consequences and not just for uk
assuredly it will now be much softer, though i hope with certain important (uk) elements maintained .......
in particular, and of course, is control of our borders .... i don't see that as being a major stumbling block as there are many ways for all sides to save face on that one
similarly, ways will be found to maintain trade in each direction
escaping the interference of ECHR may be more difficult

Promises that can not be fulfil got the votes on this elections
labour :
The Corbyn beaches, the students,
plus many remainers got the votes for them
tories
Pensioners without "triple lock " decided not to vote or vote against
note:
T. May ( HUNG ) heavy necklace, was tilting her body down and pointing to the HUNG
parliament
Stir salt into water and you get a clear solution.
Boil off the water and you have a residue of salt again.
But whisked eggs stirred in a hot pan cannot be unscrambled.
Some changes are more reversible than others.

Absolutely spot on, too many people swallowed Labour's sweets for all.

Get them back to the food banks and dole queues.
Education, who wants that.
Suitable only for the elite on daddy's money.

Just heard from "Ireland" that Sinn Féin may take up their seats for certain votes!
Interesting balance!

fred - there's no earthly point in sending kids to 4th rate unis for 5th rate degrees in worthless subjects ...... you would and indeed probably did jump up and down when this was promoted as the holy grail, as it kept down youth unemployment
i'ld love to see the reintroduction of apprenticeships, but courses in the building and allied trades are undersubscribed (perceived as infra dig?) and also at the end of it, it's almost impossible to get employed to obtain the necessary field experience
i am told that the cost in time, money and assorted forms to maintain make it far too much hassle for small companies
============
as for food banks, i wonder how many of those queuing have cars and/or the latest mobile phones and/or smoke

Exec.
Was/Is your SIP or Pension Fund and insurance for old age and ill health?
You could afford to pay into such for your golden years and advantage any offspring.
Some poor Bs. couldn't afford such.
Perhaps that accounts for the pricking of the tory balloon.

Also, borrowing.
It depends what one does with borrowed money.
How many companies are trading on "borrowed" money?
If the banks hadn't been bailed out, what would have occurred?
It is better to have the money used in the UK economy rather than an offshore "fund" in the Cayman Island.
What has the Con party done to the UK Debt over the last 5 years and where has it got the UK.
By the look cloud cuckoo land.
But at least the public have turned their backs on UKIP except for a few remaining nutters making excuses and looking around for someone to blame or scapegoat.

Manuel,
From what you posted I see that you are putting your children and grandchildren down for local apprenticeship schemes in your area.
Adult education has many values other than simply getting a degree.
It can be seen as an ongoing "developmental" phase.

Let us focus on what TM has done, not what she has failed to do - The Queen will be happy today because she has achieved putting to bed the idea of a seperate Scotland - No second referendem for Scotland, they have made it clear that they wish to remain as part of the UK even if the UK was going to go out with a hard Bexit. That puts to bed the idea that the public were afraid of a hard Brexit imo.
She must have learnt that you should not frighten older home owners with the loosing their homes.
She must have also realised that students do not want to be buried under a mountain of debt and neither do their families.
Then and not least of all the NHS has got to be supported to the hilt, ahead of giving money to North Korea etc.

This is what happens when you publicly make fun of someone whose incompetent at her job , you put out she's not well the day before the vote , then Diane Abbott gets sympathy votes and increases her majority to 35,000 quite amazing , and did you know Corbyn's changed the face of British politics , who have thought .

77552 - fortunately all 3 of my children were bright enough to go to good unis and get proper degrees in worthwhile subjects ......
2 of them used their degrees directly in their future employment
though a BSc for the 3rd was not directly useful, it certainly helped in other ways ..... his greatest help in his future life, apart from being an excellent communicator, was to get holiday jobs in the field into which he wanted to go
adult education for the less academic is assuredly best learnt in the real world ...... hence the need for apprenticeships for them and not just for those who already have good academic qualifications

in practice, the tories will have a slim overall majority
318/319 seats + 10 DUP takes them over the line from which one then subtracts 7 x SF
thus there are in practice 643 westminster seats of which the tories+DUP account for 328/329 leaving "others" with 315/314
