THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

how do you make an external fire-escape for 24 floors?
even hotels operate on internal staircases in case of fire

at the moment, we are all guessing as to why this fire seems to have spread so fast, but i expect properly informed opinion will start to surface pretty quickly

in the meantime, i am amazed that there only a dozen reported deaths so far
i would certainly have expected far more, and i remain in fear that the final count will be close on 75

MaxK - 14 Jun 2017 19:41 - 77896 of 81564

The potential problems with fire was foreseen long ago, indeed tower blocks with external escapes close by to the disaster can be seen here.

Tiny Tim has resignated.

The gay (sad) mafia have bagged another victim.

grannyboy - 15 Jun 2017 07:40 - 77898 of 81564

I think tinny tims future was decided long before his frick up on gay rights.

People got fed up with his shrill moronic rantings over his demands of wanting
another referendum...

VICTIM - 15 Jun 2017 07:47 - 77899 of 81564

I know we play hell with them but in all honesty it's getting hard not to upset someone these days , saying something in particular is fraught with lashings of anger and hatred , no wonder we are where we are .

MaxK - 15 Jun 2017 08:01 - 77900 of 81564

The problems with external poly cladding are well known, how could anyone sign off on this system?

Laurenrose - 15 Jun 2017 08:13 - 77901 of 81564

they may has well of sprayed the building with petrol ,

I would never allow any of them to even clean my car no chance

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN ALL THINGS

Laurenrose - 15 Jun 2017 08:16 - 77902 of 81564

Dil - 15 Jun 2017 09:16 - 77903 of 81564

Victim - big problem in Cardiff is with Somali's according to my nephew who lives there. Never mentioned a problem with numbers or behaviour of Asians.

As for mid Wales I find that hard to believe unless they are moving across from Birmingham but why the bloody hell would anyone do that as there isn't anything there ?

VICTIM - 15 Jun 2017 09:34 - 77904 of 81564

Oh thanks Dil , i didn't think there was a problem with Asian's just a lot of them , but there is a Somali quarter in Manchester apparently . ( bbc news )

Queen speech for the 21th June ( Summer solstice day )

The State Opening of Parliament and Queen's Speech will take place next Wednesday, Commons leader Andrea Leadsom has announced.

It had been due to take place on Monday, but was delayed by Theresa May's efforts to strike a deal with the DUP to back a minority government.

The Queen will read out a prepared speech on Mrs May's plans for new laws.
It is expected to be a slimmed down programme after the PM lost her majority in the general election

Laurenrose - 15 Jun 2017 10:58 - 77906 of 81564

IN THE 1960 I WAS A STEAL ERECTOR AND CLADDER I worked for a company from America based in ellesmere port . all cladding if doubled walled had none burning insulation between the walls no gaps it was illegal and always checked to see insulation was their in place , on all power stations ,

today its all about profit not quality , you only ever see today on food or white goods price not quality

ExecLine - 15 Jun 2017 11:52 - 77907 of 81564

The fixing rails for the cladding could be fixed vertically or horizontally.

In the event of a cladding fire, then horizontal rails would be better at preventing a funnel effect.

Obviously, the fire would rage more easily if the rails were vertical with its potential for a better funnel effect.

A raging fire would give much higher temperatures and would also require the spec' for the cladding to be higher so as to better withstand it.

Stan - 15 Jun 2017 12:05 - 77908 of 81564

Apparently the fundamental reason the fire spread so quickly on the "outside" was because the corners were not filled properly as they should haver been so the wind just spread the fire as it did.

Shoddy and cheap workmanship again.

Laurenrose - 15 Jun 2017 12:19 - 77909 of 81564

yes just looked at over 46 products no mention of quality just price , you will not be us on price but it may kill you

cynic likes to use cheap labour he posts it quite a lot.
if I want a good job done I employ the correct people to do the job not some on
who has just arrived with no papers , or forged papers ,

you get what you pay for me I want first class tradesmen not muppets

Laurenrose - 15 Jun 2017 12:27 - 77910 of 81564

just to let people of cleaning cars today the PAINT IS NOW WATER BASED YOU SHOULD NEVER USE A POWER WASHER ON THE CAR IT WILL DESTROY THE PAINT ,

Stan - 15 Jun 2017 12:50 - 77911 of 81564

MaxK - 15 Jun 2017 13:05 - 77912 of 81564

yam yam party by Doreen tipton have you watched the video

ExecLine - 15 Jun 2017 13:34 - 77914 of 81564

Aeon: 3,996%
BitBay: 2,983%
Burstcoin: 3,700%
Viacoin: 4,837%
Monero: 3,015%
PivX: 23,525%
NeosCoin: 8,136%

Ever heard of these things? They are all called 'cryptocurrencies'

The above are the growth rates from May 17 2016 – May 17 2017

£500 invested in each of the biggest 5 cryptocurrences would have returned a profit of £21,000 before tax.

Here's a few more of them:

Since January 2017:-

Golem: 728%
Neoscoin: 3298%
PivX: 23,525%
Dash: 1056%
MaidSafeCoin: 17%
SysCoin: 741%
SIBcoin: 641%
Counterparty: 432%
ShadowCash: 231%
StorJcoin: 870%
Potcoin: 9921%
NAV Coin: 5535%
Synero: 379%
StellarLumens: 2411%

They seem to be massively volatile and there appears to be a 'Mania' going on with them! These are 'digital currencies' and they aren't going to stop. Here's a web site which follows their Market Caps and Charts:

https://coinmarketcap.com/

The 'Tipsters' are shoving them at the punters (and probably making a mint in doing it).

Obviously some are going to 'drop dead' and some are going to go on well into the
future.

Here are the 24 hour 'Gainers':

https://coinmarketcap.com/gainers-losers/

Q. Anybody on here know anything about them or got any 'Cryptos' in their portfolio?
