THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

How Angela Merkel has DRAINED Germany's wealth to prop up ailing banks and failing EU

ANGELA Merkel has deliberately overseen a “draining” of Germany’s wealth to “prop up” the EU’s failing economies in a desperate bid to save the European Union project, a senior economist has said today.

Germany shifts 50,000 gold bars overseas back to Frankfurt amid Eurozone collapse fears

UK has a North South divide. Realistically how how EU meant to keep 20 odd countries on an even keel.

Idealists. Not a bad concept but impossible to see through with a single currency.

Stan - 25 Aug 2017 21:34 - 78855 of 81564

Different cultures and temperatures to hot to work in the southern med. Countries so productivity not as good as in the northern ones. Expansion of Europe to fast the whole thing has got out of kilter.

Is the answer to get out? Not in my view as better to be on the inside trying to make changes then being a separatist Country on outside.

Claret Dragon - 25 Aug 2017 22:27 - 78856 of 81564

Arguments for both sides. I wanted out and we should stay out. Its a mess and 20 years ago it looked a good idea. Now we have had Frau Merkel inviting the middle east to Germany and telling the the others to share the burden. Sorry but no one signed up to that at Maastricht, Nice. Amsterdam and Lisbon treaties.

Stan - 28 Aug 2017 22:36 - 78857 of 81564

More reasons to stay then go CD I suspect will decide things in the end.

Germany is the €U, it pulls all the strings: Berlin says jump, and Brussels obliges.

Blaming both sides, China is trying to say go to the table and negociate.........

China Says North Korea Crisis Is Reaching "Critical Point"

HONG KONG (Alliance News) - The North Korea crisis is reaching a "critical point," said China's Foreign Ministry, as it called for calm and a return to the negotiating table.

"Pressure, sanctions, threats can not fundamentally solve the problem," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Tuesday during a press briefing in Beijing. "The only way to solve it is to address the reasonable security concerns of all parties through dialogue."

"This is the only way to fundamentally cut off the vicious cycle of nuclear tests and military exercises," she said.
