THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Is that Tanker again?

-=-==

Interesting points made on TV this week was about the effect of water on heated aluminium and its "possible" effects on the Grenfell fire.

VICTIM - 05 Oct 2017 11:49 - 79214 of 81564

Stan - 05 Oct 2017 13:15 - 79216 of 81564

Getting worried about H/S's absence.. picture above of his favourite Jezzer usually gets him back 😂

black bird - 05 Oct 2017 15:11 - 79217 of 81564

them that stop sprinklers, being installed. just stupid . sidiq / goldsmith london has
a small white population. hence the result of voting bias.

Haystack - 05 Oct 2017 18:09 - 79218 of 81564

Fire brigade said sprinklers not needed. The flats are supposed to be isolated and fires burn themselves out. Cladding caused the spread not lack of sprinklers.

Stan - 06 Oct 2017 06:35 - 79219 of 81564

He's back as predicted 🙂

VICTIM - 06 Oct 2017 07:11 - 79220 of 81564

Vicky Darling,

You seem to be guilty of projection.

A condition recognised in worn out Ukippers and Brexiters.

VICTIM - 06 Oct 2017 08:58 - 79224 of 81564

Just take a long look at your posts the last five years , or maybe longer , yes longer , seems projection on my part wrong word mate .

Fred1new - 06 Oct 2017 09:13 - 79225 of 81564

Can I add stalking characteristics to your description?

VICTIM - 06 Oct 2017 09:16 - 79226 of 81564

Unfathomable is what i said and by gum you really are . Oh and puddled too .

Stan - 06 Oct 2017 09:24 - 79227 of 81564

Tut tut V.

black bird - 06 Oct 2017 10:09 - 79228 of 81564

london fire brigade, = no sprinklers i don't think so false information .
water has an alarm system .

iturama - 06 Oct 2017 10:45 - 79229 of 81564

Let the inquiry run and hopefully the whole truth will come out and lessons learnt.
Current truth is that the fire spread via the cladding. It is also true that all buildings over 30m built since 2007 must have sprinklers installed. There is no requirement for retrofitting older buildings unless "a fundamental change is made to the structure or use of the building". That may change as a result of the inquiry. It seems sensible to me that retrofitting be carried out on all high rises wherever reasonably possible.
The original fire source would likely have been contained with sprinklers. However, we all have 20:20 hindsight and it is probably unfair to blame the council leaders unless specific advice to install them was given by the Fire and Rescue Services or council safety officers.

Fred1new - 06 Oct 2017 11:26 - 79230 of 81564

That seems sensible.

Health and safety regulations are improved post lousy accidents/incidents. Some foreseeable others unfortunately not.

My guess the draught effect of cladding had not been thought of.

But sprinklers, may have or probably would have prevented the inferno.
