How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

You guys should use something like MSN Messenger while you are trading, much easier and quicker than EMail.

If Borough was in play tonight I would fancy a lay on them at 1.14, OK I know they are up against small fry but looks tempting at such low risk.

Scripophilist - 17 Jan 2006 20:37 - 7952 of 10502

Nuneaton held out for 33mins, fortunate goal for Borough as well.

Been dabbling on the snooker with a bit off success - looks like Wigan v Leeds has been interesting - now 2-2 with 25 mins left

The darts final the other night was brilliant. I turned 36% on my stake and it was easy. Very volatile, all I did was back and lay just outside the the current book and was filled on a regular basis. Having a play with the Tennis at the moment as well.

Layed Bhagdatis at 1.29. Currently 2.28 to buy back. :-))))))))))

Harlosh - 18 Jan 2006 02:23 - 7960 of 10502

Bhagdatis out to 3.5 and collapsing. Going to let it ride a while.

Harlosh - 18 Jan 2006 03:01 - 7961 of 10502

Got a bit hairy at times but now very nicely green.

Good night.

Fundamentalist - 18 Jan 2006 08:06 - 7962 of 10502

good trading john

Harlosh - 18 Jan 2006 10:08 - 7963 of 10502

Could have been a lot better Steve. Played my strategy of the seed losing the first set. In fact he lost the first two sets. He actually went on to lose but the advantage of playing the seed is he will always give a good run for your money which means great trading opportunities.

Out for the rest of the day now to escape the sea of red :-(((((

Anyone trading the snooker note that bbc2 currently is not live but a frame behind - its live on Eurosport 2 (411 on sky)

Scripophilist - 18 Jan 2006 19:18 - 7965 of 10502

Man U at 1.08/1.09 to beat Burton, was 1.06 earlier. Can't seen Man Utd not finishing the job.
