Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Why would you sell your vacuum ?

1. Well, it might still have some good life in it. But if it's kept much longer it might become much more difficult to sell to anyone.

2. You have the money and want to try something new. It's also a bit of fun and helps to defray costs to knock the old one out on, say Ebay. (Don't forget to keep the box).

Look on eBay and you will find loads of second hand vacuum cleaners including lots of Dysons and Henrys.

I suppose there is a market for second hand vacuums at the car washing joints. But all that I have seen are Henry's. They know better than to use a useless Dyson that gets clogged if it sucks up a fruit gum.

The dysons are ideal for your own home carpets.....(not for rental purposes) : they are a little fragile but just use them carefully are they will last years, don't knock them over or bang into things.......little henry's are ideal for tougher jobs.....

Upgraded to a 'Handheld - Dyson V8 Absolute Pro' just after Christmas. I'll give it 5* too. Haven't even needed to switch to 'Max' yet.

Our 3 yr old previous 'Handheld - Dyson DC35 MutiFloor' is still in absolutely excellent condition. I'll give it 4*. We take care of all of our stuff and this for example, is kept scrupulously clean and has its filter washed regularly too. It was immediately spoken for in that my daughter has quickly nabbed it for her caravan before I can sell it on.

Anyone think we could start a 'MoneyAM Classifieds' thread? I reckon we could sell our used PCs, monitors and other stuff, like Dysons on it and maybe even more. Perhaps, we might need a moderator (volunteer?) for it if and when it became fairly popular.

The DT gave the new BBC drama McMafia a bit of a slating yesterday. I had recorded the first episode and didn't find it that bad. Likes to travel a lot so a bit like the Night Manager in that respect. Anything that holds my attention more than 10 minutes is worth a few stars from me. Very few US programs get more than a minute. At least to my taste, european made tv drama is streets ahead.

On more important matters, I had the misfortune to drive through Slough yesterday and was twice nearly collected by Asian "drivers" - maybe graduates from the Karachi School of Motoring. Once when I had to turn right on a mini-roundabout and the oncoming bearded wonder clearly had never learnt when to give way and the other when a burkha-clad woman, who could scarely see over the dashboard, decided to do a U turn. Now I have a thing about burkhas, but surely they must impair vision when driving.
