Hi this is my first posting on BLR and its simply this.
How come a company like this which has just confimed oil in its drilling programme is around 1.5p and a company like Desire which hasent even seen any oil is around 35p???

Any ideas guys?

Hello sampson, I think it's because Desire have MktCap 57m & BLR have only MktCap 3.5m.Regards goal.

Oil is thick and waxy,is this easy to get to production,or does it need steam assistance process,does any one know,also what size oil column was found at Bukhara.

Looks like nobody knows at the moment... we are awaiting confirmation from BLR, lets hope for the best.

Also appear to be drilling arce well, at the same time process as evaluation of bukhara,ticked up today 3 per cent.Hope for a double set of newssoon, goal.

Thanks for the info on the arce well drilling mbugger, although I have held BLR shares for a long time now & I fill we are very close to some good news.

Drilling of Arce 3 Appraisal Well, Las Quinchas Block, Colombia

Black Rock Oil and Gas plc has been advised by the operator, Kappa Energy
Colombia Ltd, that the drilling rig has been mobilised to the Arce 3 location
prior to the commencement of drilling.

Arce 3 will be drilled approximately 300 metres to the south of the Arce 2 well,
which produced 13 degree API gravity oil at up to 60 barrels per day.

Drilling to a total depth of 3,000 feet is expected to take 10 days, following
which an initial test is anticipated. A decision on a possible steam flood
programme to enhance flow rates will be made following analysis of the results
of the initial test.

LONDON (AFX) - Black Rock Oil & Gas PLC said its Sandhills 2 well on the Isle of Wight, UK, has commenced drilling.

Black Rock said the well is being drilled as a follow-up to the Sandhills 1

well, which was drilled in 1982 and encountered oil shows in the Jurassic Great

Oolite but was never tested.

Sandhills 2 will assess the significance of the oil shows intersected by the original well.

Meanwhile, Black Rock said its Arce 3 appraisal well in Colombia had reached a drilled depth of 2,908 feet. The well has encountered continuous oil

shows from 2,600 feet, it said, but will need to be drilled to its planned total

depth of 3,000 feet before these oil shows can be evaluated fully.

Well they struct oil in Columbia and spud on the IoW, going to be a great week for this stock.

Well just look at all that buying today, isn't it loverly.

At Bukhara found a heavy waxy column of oil,any news of evaluation process results, steam process necessary to produce the oil, amonth gone , nonews .

Up she goes again.

Blimey, someone bought 60 Grands worth....

VERY encouraged by the size and timing of that buy - i'm in.

So you should be, they are now drilling a second well near where they found oil.

Don't you just love it when things go wright, theres a good feel factor about BLR.

Blimey, its going crazy today, have you seen the volume!

There is a guy on advfn claiming to be a fund manager - says they've bought a 10M stake (3% of the company) today.

Arce 3 update

Black Rock Oil & Gas plc ('Black Rock') is pleased to advise that the Arce 3
appraisal well, located in Colombia, has been drilled to its total depth of
2,936 feet.

The well intersected both the reservoir and the basement,approximately 80 feet
high, to prognosis. As previously reported and as expected, the well intersected
oil shows from a depth of 2,600 feet in the Mugrosa Formation reservoir
sandstones.

Wireline logs have been run in the hole to evaluate the hydrocarbon shows and
formations penetrated by the well. As a consequence of these shows, 7' casing
will now be run to a depth of 2,695 feet. Once casing has been cemented in
place, the open hole reservoir section will be under-reamed to a diameter of 11
inches and the well completed for testing.

For cost and efficiency, it is planned that the drilling rig will be released
and a workover rig mobilised for testing.

Black Rock has 50% equity in this project.
