Humility.

Yes, I thought England attempted to play well above their abilities.

wrong way round ...... no question that australia were far and away the better team
hats off to australia and i still very much look forward to watching the denouement of the whole tournament

Bullshare - 04 Oct 2015 11:35 - 83 of 163

Oh dear , well we will have to look forward or backwards to 2019! The better teams have won against us.

cynic - 04 Oct 2015 12:05 - 84 of 163

the question then arises as to whether or not players who play overseas should be allowed back into the squad
i fully understand the logic behind not allowing, though it is almost unquestionable that the squad is thereby weakened

Fred1new - 04 Oct 2015 12:08 - 85 of 163

Is it that important?

cynic - 04 Oct 2015 12:20 - 86 of 163

your question certainly isn't

Fred1new - 04 Oct 2015 15:07 - 87 of 163

Tich you are getting touchy.

Go back to sleep.

Fred1new - 04 Oct 2015 16:52 - 88 of 163

I hope England was watching Argentina and Tonga.

They could have seen how to play rugby.

cynic - 04 Oct 2015 17:48 - 89 of 163

only saw a bit, but tonga would do well to borrow papa farrell or johnny wilkinson to teach someone how to kick penalties

Stan - 05 Oct 2015 09:58 - 90 of 163

I attended the recent Namibian match against Tonga.. but found some of the rules rather baffling.

Whats the Rugby definition of offside then?

Chris Carson - 05 Oct 2015 10:19 - 91 of 163

Two broken legs and a cauliflower ear. Or a yellow card for diving. Take your pick.

Wrong title to this thread....should have just been : world cup 2015...

Fred1new - 05 Oct 2015 10:41 - 93 of 163

Stan.

English definition is, "What they can get away with".

Dil - 05 Oct 2015 12:34 - 94 of 163

Wales lost in the group stages in 2007 , sacked the manager and won the Grand Slam a few months later.

It's the English coach who is useless and not the majority of players (burgess and barrit are).

Get a new one now and start picking your French exiles again and all will look a lot rosier.

Good luck against Uruguay Saturday :)

Martini - 06 Oct 2015 22:27 - 95 of 163

Have I missed anything of importance whilst away?

Dil - 07 Oct 2015 09:54 - 96 of 163

Japan beat S Africa but all the other games results were predictable.

Dil - 07 Oct 2015 20:52 - 97 of 163

Lol , who's this clown kidding besides himself ???

"Exeter's Slade, who will make his World Cup debut, said the Uruguay match was a chance to "finish on a high".

"We want to be remembered for this performance and not the couple of performances previously," the centre told BBC Radio 5 live.

.... and if you think that's going to happen then dream on. No one will remember the Uruguay or Fiji matches in six months whereas the Wales and Aussie games will live in everyone's memory forever :-)

Lancaster clutching at straws here ...

Lancaster, who described the head coach's job as "brilliant but tough", said injuries and "discipline issues" also affected England's preparations for the tournament.

Centre Manu Tuilagi was suspended by England for assaulting police officers, while hooker Dylan Hartley was withdrawn from the squad after being banned for headbutting an opponent in a Premiership game for Northampton.

Lancaster also blamed the absence of several players on the tour of New Zealand in 2014, when "half the squad was in the Premiership final".

We lost two British Lions in Leigh Halfpenny and Jonathon Davies plus last years Pro 12 player of the year Rhys Webb before the tournament began.

While still seven points behind we had an outside half playing full back , a winger playing centre and a scrum half on the wing.

But you only lost because two thugs were suspended and a few players missed a friendly or two 12 months ago !

Bless him , he's lost the plot ... sack him and fast.

Bullshare - 08 Oct 2015 10:09 - 99 of 163

I think we need less home grown players in the England team and more 'foreigners', just like Wales ;-)

I like the header of this thread!

England to win Rugby World Cup 2015

Slightly exaggerated.

Couldn't even tie their own boot laces.

If the rules were changed, you would need to find 15 immigrants prepared to play for England in the next world cup.
8-)
