Hold on all I hoping that someone with the required expertise on here reading this has the technical know how to set and run just a shares bulletin board website.

the only site i use on advfn is FAR9

there's a couple of intelligent share posters on there though it is relatively quiet

i really can't be bothered with the other threads ...... i had a look in on a couple some time back, but they just didn't feel like fun to be on

Presumably the free access we have now to realtime prices is going , this is a much better place than advfn for that , obviously can not complain because it was free , bbs more active on adv but full of loonies , sorry to see it go .

I do not believe you will find free access for live prices parrisf unless it is bundled with some other product you are buying. This is because there are user fees payable to the exchanges for pricing feeds.

agree in general about ADVFN, but as previously mentioned, FAR9 (free!) is both useful and sensible and it may be that the "sponsor" will create another for general chitchat to avoid clogging the share-focused thread with same
