Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

I've had 14 bookings this season - 8 of which were my fault, but 7 of which were disputable
Because of the booking, I will miss the Holland game - if selected

Re the batsman quote - I've just found this :-
Urban myth alert, I'm afraid.
It's been attributed to John Arlott, Brian Johnston and Don Mosey at various times, but none of them ever said it. Jonathan Agnew went through the BBC Radio archives to try and find it, and it just didn't happen.
On the other hand, John Arlott really did say (referring to the New Zealand all rounder Bob Cunis, who he felt lacked Test Match quality as either batsman or bowler).
"His name is Cunis. Not really one thing or the other."

Trig... I have not got a problem with foreign playersthey come over here with a job to go to.and pay taxes!..I had to get that in!our young players learn a lot training with more skilful talent if Celtic played with eleven foreignersthat would be okand if that gave Celtic a winning European teamIm sure Celtic fans would all approveyour view trig is ok for semi-pro footballto which I have some past knowledgeand great for the best homegrowns to mature!

absolute nonsense and shows you know as much about football as you do about investing in shares......foreigners keep young players out of teams and stop them progressing....
i think you just like to make arguments as some of your points are so stupid they must just be to try and get a reaction.
try and talk about hockey or skipping or something....as you know bugger all about anything else :-))

You are so wrong Trigplayers did not even know about diets until foreign influences changed our thoughtsball skills were seldom taught in trainingunlike the Italians.. French Dutchalcohol was drunk even on match daysthe young lads that start at small clubs now know what is expectedthey make their choice.girls..drugs.. and boozeor dedication and successit is very much harder nowbut the very best always succeed!our leagues would be very much poorer quality without the worlds best footballersour youngsters have a benchmark to aspire to!

hils to be fair you are a chelsea fan so you have to agree with the numpty (and your credibility was blown by your ashley cole comment..hee hee)
i guess it depends on your point of view...I am first and foremost a scotland fan i am not particularly aligned to 1 club side so they way i look at things is as to what benefits my national side. Lots of foreign players stopping scottish players play at the top level is not an advantage for me...and yes the absolute cream will always rise to the top but you actually need strength in depth not just 1 or 2 superstars....you telling me avergae players like pascal chimbonda, ricardo fuller, daniel cousin, dirk kuyt etc keeping out young english kids is a good thing for the game......it is a stupid argument and one only made by people who are associated with rich clubs that buy foreign shite
also your argument about diets etc is nonsesne at a player's level...i agree there has been foregin input...but it is foreign manager's and coaches who advocate that kind of thing...not players......and drinking before games finished in the 70's.
