The main activity of Biofuels is the large scale production and exploitation of biodiesel and glycerine following the construction and commissioning of the initial plant.
Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and, as an environmentally friendly product, can make a significant contribution towards reducing green house gases and meeting Kyoto targets.

Kivver, I am looking to rebuy, but feel there is still more downward movement... will buy back in at 134p ( strong resistance zone) or if it falls under this level will wait untill under 100p... get in on the rebound

Kivver, it is nice to wait for the rebound but feel it might be benefitial to sell and rebuy later... if it falls below 134p you will see... but there might be a rebound at 134p and holding will have been a wise move. this investing lark can be so fustrating.... A question Kivver: Why did you pick BFC? This can be a question to anyone.....

Why did i buy????? we know we need altertantive fuels, afterall thousands are already pouring cooking oil into their diesel cars. Ive been watching the price go up and then back down after the bad news. It then start to rise quite sharply... i dont know tonker, i suppose it had good momentum behind it. WRONG!!! lol. Long term its got to be good thing otherwise its an awfull waste of money. Alternative power and fuel is the future but when it takes off. im not sure. Lots of good tips given in the IC in their new years special. (bfc not being one of them, lol)

Kivver, am glad you have bought on ethical grounds.... I have found that renewables have been very good from an investment point of view... Also because I own and run a wholefood shop I can talk to customers about what i am doing without feeling ashamed (i.e shares in British Energy!!!)... I am keeping a keen eye on these shares, I will be buying back in hopefully soon, but hopefully at a cheap price... Less than 100p

I feel that DOO has a lot going for it compared to Biofuels...
a) Management seem to meet all there targets on time, feel that there is much more honesty there (they do not try to manipulate news, hold back info etc)
b) The D1 20 unit is like a mini refinery, each one is capable of producing 8000 tonnes of fuel a year
c) Plans to have 6 D1 20s in the UK by the end of 2006... total production of 72,000 tonnes a year. The new plant Biofues has built will be able to produce 250,000 tonnes when at full capacity, this may take some time to achieve if the delays so far are anything to go by
d) Smaller units can be deployed around the country to greatly reduce transport costs
e) Units can easily be shipped arround the world, and be used in remote locations, provided power, water and veg oil are supplied. These units will run on a generator.
f) A lot of investment in India, crops are being planted very fast because of favorable monsoon conditions, they have found a plant that produces good oil but will grow in arid conditions, and Indias demand for fuel is very high. still developing India will be able to emprace this new technology
I would appreciate any feed back on these coments

yeh I know... but still a very large fall, feel the delay in full production might be worse than you think. They did not give any figures for production.... still I'm kind of hoping to buy back in but at a cheaper price... We will see...

they did announce they had produced oil at the end of Feb as promised ( albeit a small amount ) so I guess that was a enough to keep the bank happy.
But not enough to keep shareholders happy (or MMs manipulating price)
I would give it until the summer and if no progress in terms of production then call it a day

Biofuels Corporation PLC
27 March 2006
Biofuels Corporation plc
('Biofuels' or 'the Company')
Former BP senior executive appointed Chairman
Following the announcement last summer that Field Walton intended to step down
as Chairman in due course, the Board of Biofuels is pleased to announce that
Mike Buzzacott has been appointed Chairman with effect from a Board meeting held
today.
A qualified accountant, Mr Buzzacott spent 35 years at British Petroleum plc
('BP') where he held a broad range of senior management positions across Europe
and Asia in the finance, downstream, nutrition and chemicals arenas. He retired
from BP in 2004 as Group Vice President, Petrochemicals.
Mr Buzzacott is currently a non-executive Director of Croda International plc
and Rexam plc and is also an adviser to the Ineos Chemicals Group, a
privately-owned company.
Field Walton, who has stepped down from the Board today, leaves Biofuels having
overseen the successful commencement of production in February at the Seal Sands
plant, one of the largest of its type in Europe and the largest in the UK.
Since the announcement at the end of February confirming first production, the
plant has demonstrated its capability of producing market-quality biodiesel and
the Company is now focussed on ramping up throughput.
The comments by the Chancellor last week, in his Budget speech, re-affirming the
Government's commitment to the reduction of carbon emissions were very
encouraging for the industry. In particular, the Board welcomes the
announcement setting out an incentive regime and volume targets to progressively
meet the 5% target of all fuel sold on UK forecourts to come from a renewable
source by 2010.
Field Walton commented:
I am proud to have been involved with the development of Biofuels from its early
conception through to the successful commencement of production, an appropriate
time for me to hand over the reins.'
Mike Buzzacott commented:
'I am delighted to be joining Biofuels at this exciting stage in its
development. The demand for all biofuels is set to grow dramatically and the
Company is well placed to become the UK's premier producer of biodiesel in the
near to medium term.'
