Wind up merchant am I now LOL.

From travel technology consultant, Paul Richer;

He said the ‘omni-channel’ strategy of Thomas Cook Group chief executive Harriet Green struck a chord with him as he had debated the issue of ‘multi-channel retail’ at a conference called ‘Firing on all Channels’ way back in 2001.

Richer, senior partner at technology consultancy Genesys, said then that ‘customers identify with a brand regardless of channel of delivery…and believe an organisation to be a single entity’.

He wrote in his WTM blog: ‘Harriet Green understands how consumers shop.

‘They may start their holiday research on their mobile handsets whilst having a few minutes to spare at a bus stop or in the morning Costa queue.

‘They may take to their PCs in the office at lunch hour and continue their research at home on tablets or laptops.

‘As the purchase decision gets nearer they may prefer to make a telephone call or pop into a retail shop.

‘The important aspect to remember is that the consumer is considering your business as one entity, however they are interacting with it at the time.’

This trend means travel firms must adapt their technology systems, and ensure that staff incentives are set so that a customer enquiring about a web booking with a retail outlet or call centre will be treated with the same courtesy and given the same amount of time as if making the booking in person.

‘If a travel company can achieve this then it will be firing on all channels,’ he concluded

halifax - 17 Apr 2013 16:18 - 859 of 1559

bullshit cheapest wins!

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2013 16:24 - 860 of 1559

Is it worth shorting Halifax?????????????

Cant see what your answer will be as I have you squelched.

halifax - 17 Apr 2013 16:30 - 861 of 1559

TCG reminds us of many retailers that woke up too late to the online threat, unless they adapt quickly they will be out of business in 3 years.

doodlebug4 - 17 Apr 2013 16:32 - 862 of 1559

I think you should have posted that comment 3 years ago, halifax. Harriet Green and her Board seem to be very much awake, the same cannot be said for the previous CEO and Board.

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2013 16:44 - 863 of 1559

Go on Halifax .....more more more.

Doodles is in a world of his own.

doodlebug4 - 17 Apr 2013 16:50 - 866 of 1559

LOL, since we seem to be posting twice here I will repeat myself; "I think you should have posted that comment 3 years ago, halifax. Harriet Green and her Board seem to be very much awake, the same cannot be said for the previous CEO and Board."

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2013 17:10 - 867 of 1559

doodles your problem is your blinkered to outside market forces.

Im not saying TCG is a bad company what Im actually saying is that sentiment in the real world is very low right now.

Your taking a big risk.

I even hope your right and Im wrong

cynic - 17 Apr 2013 17:50 - 868 of 1559

behave yourself sticky ...... hali's an ok guy, just as you are (most of the time) ..... there is no compulsion to follow your lead, and those with a different view are just as likley to profit, certainly on a trading basis

for all that, TCG has certainly performed well today in a very nasty market and may well continue to do so - may even consider buying back in again :-)

doodlebug4 - 17 Apr 2013 20:21 - 869 of 1559

gf, I don't know how you figure out that I'm taking a big risk here. The share price would have to bomb back right down to under 22p for me to make a loss now.

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2013 20:49 - 870 of 1559

LOL LOL LOL cynic.......... your a fraud.........

"may even consider buying back in again :-) "

ps, Evil told me this evening hes thinking of going short.

Exclusive that for you doodles.

Chris Carson - 17 Apr 2013 22:43 - 871 of 1559

Halifax - Just an observation that's all, you seem to be very quick to judge others on their stock selection. Your mantra is usually we believe this or we believe that (would that be the 'royal we' who exactly is we? you and your granny, mum, sister, who exactly?) Not once have you contributed one trading idea, mentioned one trade that you (or the royal we if you insist) have entered with a target long or short with a stop if god forbid you were wrong. You just consistantly put in your 2 pennys worth, 2 occassions way out with 1st SGE I posted 28/12 wee punt on the spreads @ 295.8 tight stop. You replied "Might Need Some Onion With This One" only thing missing was Ha Ha Ha. Well guess what SGE share price today is 342.15. The other pearl of wisdom recently was AFR long on lead up to results, err I don't think so. Personally I am not trading TCG but I really hope they do well. DB good luck to you mate! :O)

goldfinger - 18 Apr 2013 06:17 - 872 of 1559

Oh shut up nice but simple chris.

Get back to stuffing turkeys. Halifax knows his onions.

doodlebug4 - 18 Apr 2013 08:37 - 875 of 1559

gf, I couldn't give a toss what Evil does, if he does short this share I hope he gets his ass burnt. Thank you for that Chris.
