How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Good night to have backed overs (all 4 games are), backed 2-2 = 3 games are and one is 1-2 with 5 mins to go or to have laid the leader (every side that has led has been pulled back so far bar Barca)

After the demise of his football career sol campbell trains to become a vet. On his first day he is called out to a local farm where two cows and two horses are about to give birth. The first cow goes into lengthy labour, meanwhile within minutes the two horses go into labour.Sol tends to the two horses but due to schoolboy errors he messes up and both newborns sadly die. After 45 minutes the first cow gives birth and sol promptly picks up his coat and gets ready to leave "where are you going?" asked the baffled farmer to which sol replies "i was badly at fault for the two foals so im not staying for the second calf

WGC - Matchplay. Ogilvy/Love. Not much liquidity or even value in the match but there have been some over-round laying-the-field opportunities for small gains.

Scrip

and no i havent blown all my bank lol

Fundamentalist - 27 Feb 2006 14:57 - 8968 of 10502

Lot of unhappy people with the new format on the forum. Quite a few one click software arent working and most just dont like the look of it. Some also having probs submitting bets - tread carefully if using this afternoon as wouldnt be surprised if the site was to go down at some point

compoundup - 27 Feb 2006 15:12 - 8969 of 10502

Steve, I have same "logged on as false" but zero balance corrected to actual after a second or two on log-in.

Scrip has just put up information on Message page

Fundamentalist - 27 Feb 2006 15:13 - 8970 of 10502

Scrip

teach me not to read the "message of the day".

When you have got a moment could you explain to me the difference between API and non API and how you get access, whether it costs and what are the benefits

TIA

Scripophilist - 27 Feb 2006 16:53 - 8971 of 10502

No general difference but the API version will not exhibit these oddities. They came around because Betfair changed the code and this could not be interpreted by the NON API version. Because the API is the Betfair approved version they always give us advanced warning of any code changes. Not the same for the standard version.

We have modified the code and will release a new version tomorrow.

Thanks scrip

despite this a very pleasing day on the horses :-)

I'm doing OK but nothing special. Betfair wobbled a bit early so I was cautious for a few races.
