cynic reason why the spread is so wide is that the MMs don't know how to play it. News could come from Monterey which is infact GAS or from Colombia. There are also other ventures which could be exploited.

If you keep to reading the published spread you won't win. Online prices are far different from what you see with the right broker.

cynic - 29 Dec 2006 06:47 - 905 of 1049

which is why i wrote "apparent" ...... still don't reckon the share is worth throwing money at

moneyman - 29 Dec 2006 16:27 - 906 of 1049

Your decision my friend but all my previous trades purchased under 1p have proven fruitfull. Happy New year.

cynic - 29 Dec 2006 16:42 - 907 of 1049

ALL?? ...... what a very clever man you are ..... do you hold SEO too?

moneyman - 29 Dec 2006 23:41 - 908 of 1049

Yes ALL ! and NO

cynic - 30 Dec 2006 09:13 - 909 of 1049

what a genius! ..... how come you didn't back SEO (sensible chap!)?

best i can say for myself is at least none of my stocks, which were always far more than 1p, have not retreated anywhere near those dark depths! ...... actually, a typical year ...... some winners (some of which i should have kept holding); some stinkers which i did not cut early enough (VOG!!); but overall not bad at all.

moneyman - 30 Dec 2006 21:30 - 910 of 1049

Well pat yourself on the back ;-)

skyhigh - 17 Jan 2007 08:34 - 911 of 1049

sp looks as though it's going to drop another 25-30% (imho) something's going on that's for sure! placing/refinance coming up!?

BTW...grim isn't it?

cynic - 17 Jan 2007 13:11 - 912 of 1049

talk to Moneyman ...... he rates this company and has never made a loss on any investment .... or so he says

skyhigh - 17 Jan 2007 15:40 - 913 of 1049

still going down and down though... getting grimmer by the hour.. It's tempting to buy more at these levels but... I keep buying and it keeps going down... this time I'm sitting this one out..

skyhigh - 17 Jan 2007 16:08 - 914 of 1049

wow ! still going down ! gets grimmer and grimmer ! methinks we're getting very close to an anouncement of some sort ? might not be pretty when it's finally released !

skyhigh - 18 Jan 2007 09:42 - 915 of 1049

Well, there it is... it's dropped the 25-30% (imho) something's going on that's for sure! placing/refinance coming up!?
News must be soon..

BTW...grim isn't it?

skyhigh - 18 Jan 2007 11:32 - 916 of 1049

Well, here it is at last..there was a placing afterall... haven't a clue what all below means...this might sound silly but I guess institutions would not have stumped up the backing if there was no chance of any return...so I see this as positive and specualtion will drive the sp back up again ? (imho)

Black Rock Oil & Gas PLC
18 January 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 18 January 2007

Black Rock Oil & Gas PLC
('Black Rock' or the 'Company')

Placing

Black Rock (stock code: BLR), the UK-based exploration company, is pleased to
announce that through its broker, VSA Resources Limited, the Company has
conditionally placed 317,000,000 new ordinary shares of 0.5p each ('Ordinary
Shares') with a number of investors at a placing price of 0.5p per Ordinary
Share (the 'Placing') to raise 1,585,000 (before expenses) subject to
settlement. The Company intends to use the Placing proceeds to provide
additional working capital and in particular, to fund the next payment of
approximately US$1,000,000 to the Company's Colombian joint venture partner,
Kappa Resources Colombia Limited ('Kappa').

Kappa has previously advised the Company that it expects to start drilling the
Acacia Este prospect in the Las Quinchas Block in January/February 2007.
Drilling and testing is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks. On completion of this
well, assuming a minimum cost of US$1.5 million, Black Rock will have earned,
subject to approval from Ecopetrol, a 50% non-operator equity interest in the
Las Quinchas Block.

The additional Ordinary Shares will on issue rank pari passu with the existing
Ordinary Shares in issue and application will be made for the new Ordinary
Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM, following which Black Rock will have a
total issued share capital of 1,022,955,530 Ordinary Shares admitted to trading
on AIM. Trading in the new Ordinary Shares on AIM is expected to commence on 31
January 2007.

John Cubitt, Managing Director of Black Rock Oil & Gas plc, commented:

'The Board of Black Rock is delighted that the investment community continues to
support the Company. This fundraising will enable us, subject to Ecopetrol's
approval, to complete the earn-in of a 50% interest in the Las Quinchas Block,
and to initiate an active drilling programme in Columbia in 2007.

'We have been advised by the Operator, Kappa, that the Arce test wells have
produced oil at ambient temperatures and we expect to conclude the steam
injection test programme during the second quarter. A development plan is then
expected to be submitted by Kappa for Colombian government approval, at which
stage we would be able to assess the economic value of our attributable interest
in the Arce field reserves.

'In terms of the proposed drilling of the Acacia Este prospect, Kappa hopes to
spud the well very shortly for what is expected be a two week drilling
programme. Testing should take approximately a further two weeks, such that we
anticipate being able to make a further announcement regarding Acacia Este
around the end of the first quarter of 2007.'
