Felix, am keeps closing when I post a note to the BB. Get a popup "Microsoft IE has encountered a problem and needs to close" It then goes back to my home page. Has happened on both my machines this morning so not me I think. Skinny is also having a problem (see traders thread).

Many PC Bios allow you to choose which Hard Disk to boot from, worth a check
D.
2nd HDD's are very reasonably priced at the moment

Rob, had same problem a number of times this morning, also when trying to view all messages or previous. Only seems to relate to Traders Thread. I thought it might be something to do with additions Croc has made?? but I'm no techy.

skinny - 14 Oct 2003 11:58 - 943 of 11003

Robb/Seymour - now you mention it - my problems were all related to the traders thread!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Oct 2003 12:27 - 944 of 11003

Guys,

Those of you that experienced an error message when you accessed the site this morning - one quick question, do you have any kind of pop up blocker anabled - it probably isn't this, but just investigating all possibilities.

Ian - no!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Oct 2003 12:35 - 946 of 11003

Thanks Skinny - was a long shot :) are you back up too speed at the moment or are you still experiencing problems?

I will consider that Croc, could also be a secondary data back up as well as a means of running true dos programes, have an original copy of Windows 3.11 and dos 5 or 6 somewhere

skinny - 14 Oct 2003 12:37 - 948 of 11003

No its fine now - but I do get the problem every couple of days or so - I'll cut and paste next time.

Robb - 14 Oct 2003 13:01 - 949 of 11003

Ian - mine wasn't a problem with general site access, or even the BB. It just seemed to be in relation to the traders thread. If it happens again I will post details.

Regards
Rob

Have a new clock applet in the traders thread header, it seems o.k. here but might cause a problem on a differebt system

Robb - 14 Oct 2003 13:46 - 952 of 11003

Just had the same problem with the traders thread a few minutes ago. Had to close down ie. It said it was creating a log - appcompat.txt - which I can't now find.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Oct 2003 13:48 - 953 of 11003

Croc,

Can you remove the clock from the header for a few days as we think this may be responsible - have posted on the othe rthread but just to let you know.

Robb,

Hopefully that will clear the problem, but please let me know if it happens again once the clock has been removed?

Regards

Ian

Done Ian
Can someone who is having the problem also test for the same problem on www.ftsedow.com
Thanks
D.

Robb - 14 Oct 2003 15:43 - 955 of 11003

Still getting the problem. Also now getting a blank page with "Done" at the bottom. It only seems to be in relation to the traders thread.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Oct 2003 15:44 - 956 of 11003

Robb,

All seems to be ok with everyone else - croc has reverted to an older version of the Header.

What isp are you using?
Ian

Seymour Clearly - 14 Oct 2003 15:47 - 957 of 11003

Back in after shopping.

Have still got the problem. Opened up stockwatch successfuly, clicked on traders room to open in another window, clicked on the traders thread and bang, down we went - both IE windows closed, and my home page opened up. All going OK until the traders page opened.

No firewall or anything on this machine, W98SE, loads of memory. Afnother site works OK (not trying to be pointed at all, know they wouldn't respond at all!).

Robb - 14 Oct 2003 15:55 - 958 of 11003

Ian - on a locally provided 1mb wireless broadband connection that ultimately goes thru ntl. I've checked with them and there are no problems and its been smooth and fast since I've had it. The problem is intermittant (about 8-10 times), only started happening today and only in relation to the traders thread and on no other website. I've cleared temp internet files and cookies just in case.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Oct 2003 15:57 - 959 of 11003

Robb,

can you give a try now - croc has removed teh header to see if this is causing it.
