How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

bakko the tide has turned in the overs market for the pool games wed 5-1 was a turning point for now, a few weeks ago there games were dull and have been priced as such given great odds in the overs market for the last 2 games, this will change soon and come back to the right odds be priced.

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 15:07 - 9432 of 10502

Do you know what the overs odds were today and what they were 3 games ago?

WOODIE - 19 Mar 2006 16:26 - 9433 of 10502

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 17:17 - 9434 of 10502

Afternoon chaps. Surely draw price is a gift in the Chelsea game. Anyone taken it?

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 17:22 - 9435 of 10502

Your draw almost came. Drogba's just had a goal disallowed for handball

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 17:25 - 9436 of 10502

Hi Bak. Yep, I'm more p*ssed off than Mourhino. LOL

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 17:26 - 9437 of 10502

Don't really want Chelsea to equalise too soon though.

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 17:31 - 9438 of 10502

At the rate they'll playing Fulham could take the game altogether.

Its been a strange game with Chelsea having lots of possession, corners, lots of shots off target, etc. Just can't seem to convert the pressure into a goal.

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 17:33 - 9439 of 10502

Lampards just skied a chance over the bar

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 17:34 - 9440 of 10502

Not seen a lot of the game but what I have would concur with your observations Bak. Nonetheless, you can't write them off can you. Especially against a team like Fulham.

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 17:38 - 9441 of 10502

Even though Fulham are hanging on, their chances although few have all been on target. If it wasn't for the woodwork and an excellent save from Czech they'd be 3-0 up

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 17:42 - 9442 of 10502

A goal from Chelsea anytime now would be fine :-)

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 17:56 - 9443 of 10502

Gallas sent off

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 17:59 - 9444 of 10502

Lost the bet but nice to see Chelsea beaten.

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 18:09 - 9445 of 10502

I see Blake (who?) beat Nadal last night.

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 18:19 - 9446 of 10502

John,

He's an American and gets overshadowed by Roddick and Agassi but has been in good form recently having already won 2 titles this year.

James Blake

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 18:31 - 9447 of 10502

Thanks Bak, never heard of him at all.

Real would have been a good lay.

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 18:34 - 9448 of 10502

Tennis final Fed v Blake starts in 30 mins

Harlosh - 19 Mar 2006 18:38 - 9449 of 10502

Thanks for that Bak. Thought it would be in the early hours. I'm on a wireless laptop away from home so not sure how long I'll be here before I have to leave.

bakko - 19 Mar 2006 18:43 - 9450 of 10502
