FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 3rd August 2005

Black Rock Oil & Gas plc

Arce 3 update

Black Rock Oil & Gas plc ('Black Rock') is pleased to advise that the Arce 3
appraisal well, located in Colombia, has been drilled to its total depth of
2,936 feet.

The well intersected both the reservoir and the basement, approximately 80 feet
high, to prognosis. As previously reported and as expected, the well intersected
oil shows from a depth of 2,600 feet in the Mugrosa Formation reservoir
sandstones.

Wireline logs have been run in the hole to evaluate the hydrocarbon shows and
formations penetrated by the well. As a consequence of these shows, 7' casing
will now be run to a depth of 2,695 feet. Once casing has been cemented in
place, the open hole reservoir section will be under-reamed to a diameter of 11
inches and the well completed for testing.

For cost and efficiency, it is planned that the drilling rig will be released
and a workover rig mobilised for testing.

Black Rock has 50% equity in this project.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 24 August 2005

Black Rock Oil & Gas plc

(or 'the Company')

Drilling Update

COLOMBIA - Testing of Arce 3 Appraisal Well

Testing of the Arce 3 appraisal well, which originally was drilled in July 2003,
commenced on 23rd August. Operations are planned to last for at least eight
days.

Arce 3 was drilled to a total depth of 2,936 feet and encountered the reservoir
objective 80 feet higher than had been expected. Oil shows were recorded while
drilling and from wireline logs from a depth of 2,600 feet in the Mugrosa
Formation reservoir sandstones. The well was then completed for testing and has
been awaiting the arrival of equipment for this purpose.

Arce 3 is an appraisal to the nearby Arce 2 well, which flowed 13 degree API
gravity oil at rates of up to 60 barrels per day, and the earlier Arce 1
discovery well. Following the results of the Arce 3 testing, a decision will be
made on a pilot steam flood project which could significantly increase flow
rates. The Arce field has estimated gross recoverable reserves of about five
million barrels of oil and, in the event of successful testing, could be on
stream by late 2005 or early 2006.

Black Rock has 50% equity in this project and the Company will provide updates
as significant events occur.

SOUTHERN ENGLAND - Sandhills 2

Black Rock Oil & Gas plc is free carried through the drilling of this well.
Drilling operations therefore are not a cost to the Company which has a 5%
interest in this project.

Sandhills 2 is being drilled onshore on the Isle of Wight on licence PEDL 098.
The well has been drilled to a measured depth of 4,185 feet and electric logs
have been run. The operator has advised that the well encountered oil shows over
a 57 ft interval of true vertical thickness with calculated oil saturations of
up to 38%.

Following intersection of the Great Oolite at a greater depth than expected,
Sandhills 2 has been cemented back to the 9 5/8' casing shoe at 2,026 feet. Oil
saturations reported in the well, together with wireline log evaluation
undertaken for the Operator and evaluation of the seismic data, indicated an oil
column could be trapped within the Sandhills structure. As a consequence, a
sidetrack operation, designed to test this possible oil column, is now underway;
the Sandhills 2Z sidetrack well commenced drilling from a depth of 2,026 feet on
22nd August.
