Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Dil - 08 Oct 2018 22:18 - 9614 of 12628

And more bad news for those wanting a second referendum ... Sturgeon is in favour so that'll piss off most of Scotland.

Stan - 08 Oct 2018 23:00 - 9615 of 12628

Dil you have enough trouble on your plate with your useless excuse for a football club so you might as well cut your loses and give up on this other useless Brexit nonsense...178 days to go to the first informed referendum now 😃

VICTIM - 09 Oct 2018 08:00 - 9616 of 12628

Informed referendum , what exactly would the terms of going back into the EU be then Stan , do you think we're just going to slot in where we left off . We haven't been a part of it now for 18 months or so , no meetings etc . It could be the most damaging thing we would ever do .

Dil - 09 Oct 2018 08:57 - 9617 of 12628

Cardiff voted to remain Stan , what did Burnley vote ? :-)

Fred1new - 10 Oct 2018 08:31 - 9618 of 12628

Manuela's and Dil's dancing partners.

Dil - 10 Oct 2018 22:31 - 9619 of 12628

Keep it up Frd but guess what .... we leaving , happy days.

Wanna cone to the party ?

Dil - 10 Oct 2018 22:36 - 9620 of 12628

Oh my bad , guess you didn't understand what you were being asked so you'll probably want me to ask you again in 2 years time.

Tick tock :-)

Stan - 11 Oct 2018 10:03 - 9621 of 12628

Dil, Burnley like a lot of depressed areas in this Country voted out thinking wrongly that leaving the EU would mean less immigration meaning low wages and conditions would be stopped.

Unfortunately for them and us they didn’t count on immigrants from outside the EU coming instead which would result in the same I.E. wages and conditions being kept low.

Fred1new - 11 Oct 2018 10:16 - 9622 of 12628

Dil,

Your mum is waiting for you.

Dil - 11 Oct 2018 10:49 - 9623 of 12628

The difference is Stan we can pick who we allow in instead of all and sundry having the right to come in.

Fred , chin up old bean , won't be long now.

cynic - 11 Oct 2018 11:58 - 9624 of 12628

brexit will cast a long shadow for many more months, with the overhanging threat that JRM and Boris will contrive to allow labour into power - and then there will be NO brexit

Clocktower - 11 Oct 2018 13:28 - 9625 of 12628

Chances of labour getting into power in the next election is no greater than Fred getting into space.

2517GEORGE - 11 Oct 2018 13:40 - 9626 of 12628

Surely there must be a way to achieve that, …………….getting Fred into space I mean.

Claret Dragon - 11 Oct 2018 14:20 - 9627 of 12628

Interstellar Man.

Dil - 11 Oct 2018 15:06 - 9628 of 12628

Stick a rocket up his butt bonfire night ?

Point taken Dil to an certain extent but we have to force the lazy employers in this country to train their own staff like they used to do rather then poncing cheap labour from abroad as much as they have. Millions of people left on the scrap heap and a massive drain on our finances for years needs to be put in reverse.

2517GEORGE - 11 Oct 2018 15:47 - 9630 of 12628

This cheap labour from abroad, are they fully trained then, or are their work related documents taken at face value?

Cerise Noire Girl - 11 Oct 2018 17:14 - 9631 of 12628

UK unemployment is at a 43 year low. I'd love to know who the millions left on the scrap heap are...

Cerise Noire Girl - 11 Oct 2018 17:18 - 9632 of 12628

Dilbert,

The government can control undesirable immigration easily with or without Brexit, simply by removing some of the reasons why immigrants choose to go to the UK (ie. free housing, healthcare, benefits). That was their promise in 2010 and they've failed miserably.

Do you seriously think Brexit will change any of that?

cynic - 11 Oct 2018 17:19 - 9633 of 12628

the ones with worthless degrees who couldn't accept they weren't worth in excess of £25k in their first job

i'm pretty sure european courts decreed uk was not allowed to discriminate
