World cup 2010, What chances for the Home sides and Ireland !. (2010)

required field - 12 Oct 2008 18:43

Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

required field - 25 Jun 2010 17:23 - 978 of 1154

Disappointing game : Brazil-Portugal....0-0......The Dutch will push the Brazilians hard in the quarters if they both go that far of course,...they should do......feel a bit sorry for Ivory Coast....a good side....just very unlucky to be in that group.....no France, no Italy......heck of a lot of surprises this year, more than usual....Portugal will be difficult to knock out by the look of it.....

goldfinger - 27 Jun 2010 00:13 - 979 of 1154

Ohh never mind refs etc, etc, lets get stuck in and prove ourselves as the best around.

My mind tomorrow is on winning only.

No silly historical crap not that we arent anyway better than Fritz....... we are.

What we need is that spirit that John Terry portrayed in the last game when diving full length on the floor at about 18inch up from the ground and going for a header after putting in a fantastic block.

My god that should be what an England player should be looking to do if they want to win the Fritz and the games after.

We are going to win.

Forget peanaltys and extra time just have a belief.

Come on lads follow me in............ CHARGE.

Fully agree NuggetI have forgiven Terry after that last heroic performance.

We are just starting to prepare for the daymight even fit in most of the F1...

I would like to see this team starting:-

Goalkeeper: David James

Defenders: Glen JohnsonJohn Terry Jamie Carragher / Michael Dawson? Ashley Cole

Midfielders: James Milner, Frank Lampard, Gareth Barry, Steven Gerrard,

Striker: Jermain DefoeWayne Rooney

I would play Jamie Carragher on experience and with the choices available

Result 2-1 Englandand let us prey Rooney is 100% fitcan we have all the British behind us today
Have a great day and celebrations to you all!!.GO ON MY SON!!!!

Best Prices 90 mins. at this moment. 7/4 England.11/5 Germany.11/5 Drawoverround = 100.3%.

My 2-1 correct score best odds :- Boylesports..10/1

Key facts:

England have conceded a first-half goal in only five of their last 40 competitive internationals.

Germany have won all of their last five penalty shootouts at World Cups and European Championships.

Germany have trailed at half-time in just one of their last 17 World Cup matches.

I see you have left Upson out, whilst I'm not a fan of his, I believe he is just short of what is required at this level, he did improve from a shaky start and together he and JT who was magnificent in that game, seemed comfortable with each other. I think England will win 3-1 (Defoe, Rooney at last, and Lamps).

Clubman3509 - 27 Jun 2010 20:58 - 990 of 1154

Sad but England were not up to it. Rooney is a disgrace, and should go back to nicking car wheels in thiefpool.

Dil - 28 Jun 2010 00:33 - 991 of 1154

Taking it well then Chris :-)

Chris Carson - 28 Jun 2010 01:51 - 992 of 1154

Clubman3509 - 28 Jun 2010 07:30 - 993 of 1154

Treblewide - 28 Jun 2010 07:40 - 994 of 1154

Clubman3509 - 28 Jun 2010 07:45 - 995 of 1154

None of them in our team, even though we lost.

HARRYCAT - 28 Jun 2010 07:47 - 996 of 1154

Yet again a shallow, irrelevant, racist comment from you Clubman. It seems that's all you've got to offer.

Clubman3509 - 28 Jun 2010 07:52 - 997 of 1154

Fact.
