Has anyone got any ideas why VLR continues to fall? They are one of the few Fuel cell company to have actually successfully comercialised their product and the potential for future growth is huge.

Skidding like a good 'un. Is that a support level I see at 30p?

I selected the shares yesterday at 34.5p for the "UPS" thread, have been moving higher since.....

Reason -VLR is the leading commercial developer and manufacturer of portable fuel cell systems, a good reason to tuck away the shares is because are trading at around net cash 33.50p at their last results, so their technology is not in the price

A very tidy 25% bounce this morning, ahead of the results due to be released tomorrow. I can only hope that the market will still be enthusiastic about these shares then.

ST, Too many Short Term traders. Today's statement - everything in line with expectations. Buy on weakness and put in thebottom drawer until end of 2007 results.

I agree. Forgive my little outburst. Actually the current market cap is barely more than the co's net assets (almost 7 mil, most of which is cash). They have no debts and appear to be well funded, although at this SP they had better pray they don't need to raise too much by way of extra funds in the near futre (unlikely at current cash brun rates).

I'd say the current SP is a decent buying opportunity, but agree one has to be patient. Any positive news ought to make the SP rise; it's too surely low for mildly bad news such as project delays to have much of an effect. If I was liquid I might think about getting some more; I'll just have to stick for the time being.

Volume of shares traded so far today has also been next to nil - which I think is a good thing - shows there's very little panic going on.

ST, until VLR is cash generative the MMs will have a field day. :-)

Actually I regard this one similarly to QTI - the products are at or close to the commercial stage, just waiting for it to feed through into serious sales. Will keep watching and DYOR'ing.

Cynic, I read the results earlier and didn't think they were all that bad. This co is trading at a value barely more than that of its cash in the bank.

Meanwhile the other fuel cell co's are further from commercialising their product and command valuations in the hundreds of millions.

So much for efficient market theory. Still, I'm not panicking, as ever.

I hasten to add that only around 82,000 VLR shares have been traded today, so the price drop is an invention by the MM's, not the result of a sudden lemming-like rush for the exits by a large proportion of shareholders.

The difference here compared to other fuel cell co's is blue sky. What market is VLR going for -- not huge by the look of it. Technology that is theirs looks a bit sketchy and by there own admission it seems most of the cash will be gone by end of 2007

All this does not say the share is not cheap -- if they get a return on their investment of any reasonable %age it should do OK, plus Shares Mag seems to like it so we could expect a push this week or next

Soul* .... Voller is running at an operating loss so the money in the bank will be trickling out if not faster .... further, they do not expect to be selling commercially (I think that is what it said) until end 2007 .... all too far away to warrant chucking monmey in, I think

Yep, I can agree that profitability is looking a little distant- however, what a contrast in this half of the year with the first half, when all of these shares were roaring away regardless.

Patience is the key.

Too cheap for me - regret to say impatience got the better of me and I dumped my stock last week.
