Renesola - want to see huge growth ? Look no further !! (SOLA)

whatuwant - 21 Aug 2006 13:28

Read the latest interims.......just make sure that you are sitting down.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=SOLA&S

R88AVE - 30 May 2008 22:06 - 2501 of 3050

Finished up nearly 7% in US so they still interested unlike UK PI's.

sivad - 31 May 2008 08:53 - 2502 of 3050

Only one way for Sola -UP!

cynic - 31 May 2008 12:46 - 2503 of 3050

i hope you don't really believe that!
Wall Street is currently much more likely to head south than north, so SOLA is unlikely to buck that trend, especially if NYMEX also continues to weaken

hlyeo98 - 01 Jun 2008 12:00 - 2504 of 3050

SOLA will be going south next week, I'm with u, cynic.

cynic - 02 Jun 2008 08:13 - 2505 of 3050

looks to me that if SOLA do not rally promptly (now barely 600), then continuing sharp fall must be short odds

hlyeo98 - 02 Jun 2008 08:22 - 2506 of 3050

SOLA is a good short now imo

halifax - 02 Jun 2008 08:45 - 2507 of 3050

RNS directors selling shares.

R88AVE - 02 Jun 2008 08:54 - 2508 of 3050

ADS sells has nothing to do with directors selling. ADS is American depositary shares. This is IMO is good news, they will need cash to fund for the expansion plans without having to go lender, therefore the margins/debts will be smaller.
This goes to show the demand from the company is rapidly growing. Dont forget the company recent result profits were triple year-year and have signed 6yr contract with possibly more to come.

sivad - 02 Jun 2008 09:58 - 2509 of 3050

A very wise move by Sola-reacting now to market requirements.
Simply not Director selles as we are led to believe.
Directors are selling shares probably on the cheap to ensure that the new issues are kept to a minimum.
Afterall the ADS they hold are a windfall.

8.5m additional ADS will not have a significant dilution issue on current company performance and Sola advisers have probably taken these factors in to account.
All in all a good time to undergo this exercise.

Business is booming and machinery has to be in place.Good forward planning without raising debt levels.

halifax - 02 Jun 2008 10:13 - 2510 of 3050

Seems to me whichever way you look at it the directors are cashing in.

sivad - 02 Jun 2008 10:21 - 2511 of 3050

Not simply cashing in as you put it.You make it sound as though they are acting with impropriety-which is simply not the case.

If they held on to their ADS they would in my opinion make a lot more money.

Remember certain investment houses are calling the ADS up to $40.

As I said before they are assisting the fundraising in the most appropriate way.

They have taken legal and financial advise. You simply just dont act on a whim in these situations

In my opinion they have acted correctly.

cynic - 02 Jun 2008 10:40 - 2512 of 3050

ADR!!
acting correctly and guessing a future price have nothing to do with each other!
certainly promoting the idea of a $40 sp while pushing to get the fundraising well-placed is tantamount to blatant touting - you are warned

R88AVE - 02 Jun 2008 11:15 - 2513 of 3050

So cynic would you short on something that is rapidly growing? If so it would be very short term.

You obviously dont trust this company do you? Its understandable at the early days when they were developing there were a few hiccups here and there which gives doubts and the sp was volitile. Looking at the recent results it looks to me the confident is sky high and sorted all nagging problems.

Whats is your fair price for this then, considering global warming issues etc?

cynic - 02 Jun 2008 11:27 - 2514 of 3050

yes i would, especially one that is chinese run, where the directors (i hear) are selling, and when Nymex is dropping.

have not done so yet, though as well documented, have certainly done so in the past.

global warming ..... pah! not immedaitely relevant to sp
fair price ..... no idea and don't much care .... judging direction and impetus is the key

dorothyperkins - 02 Jun 2008 13:12 - 2515 of 3050

guys - check out MDM Engineering (MDM) - PE is around 2! Ive just started a fred.

cynic - 02 Jun 2008 13:54 - 2516 of 3050

darn it!

ptholden - 02 Jun 2008 19:32 - 2517 of 3050

I especially like para 3 of the RNS, summat along the lines of the raised funds will be used for general corporate expenses, in other words SOLA are still unable to fund operating costs from sales, despite all the expansion. Seems that they are not making a profit at all. A bit more dilution, wonder when the convertible bonds will be converted adding another 10% dilution? 10% today will knock 60p off the SP. I still favour a return to 460p-500p as an initial shorting target. Just my view, I have no position.

R88AVE - 02 Jun 2008 21:09 - 2518 of 3050

Looks like the US still likes SOL, despite talks of it to tank following the annoucement today. Still must be a good bull sign

The solar industry is inching towards the holy grail of grid parity as solar companies invest aggressively in building capacity, according to sector analyst Dean Cooper.

Rapid growth in the solar industry means that solar power will become as cheap as other forms of electricity, with Italy expected to reach grid parity by 2012 according to Cooper.

But Cooper, head of alternative energy at Ambrian Partners, warned that excess supply would lead to an inevitable shake-out in the sector in the longer term. Solar companies that combined an efficient supply chain with efficient processes and financial strength were expected to best ride out any sector downturn.

Cooper tipped ReneSola, a Chinese manufacturer of solar wafers, and Solar Integrated Technologies, which produces building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems, as companies to watch. Both companies are listed on AIM.

ReneSola announced a US initial public offering last Friday (29 May) to raise money by selling 8.15 million shares. It will use the $70 million of the money raised to expand its solar wafer manufacturing facilities and a further $100 million to invest in polysilicon manufacturing over the next two years, Cooper said.

Effectively this will enhance ReneSolas scale economies and allow it to capture full margin in the value chain by extending upstream capacity, he explained.

And this from an expert-not amateur shorters who say a lot but know very little.

Yep, and as we all know the so-called experts always get it right - LoL
